    A friendship
One dark, cloudy autumn’s day in Broadham a man called Bob and a man called Phil were getting ready to go out shopping. Bob was a shy and timid person who rarely goes out of his house. Phil however was quite the opposite. Phil was a person who likes to get out there and have some fun. Phil and bob were both single so had to do everything their selves. Bob and Phil had never met each other before even though they lived opposite each other on the same street. They were walking out the front door and Bob started to cross the street. Suddenly a car came steaming down the road. Bob didn’t seem to see the car and crossed the street. Phil saw the car and darted into the road and managed to push Bob out the way of the car. Phil had been knocked over by the car which kept on going.

“Are you all right? “Asked Bob anxiously to the unconscious Phil. “I’ll, call nine nine nine.” Said bob worryingly

When the ambulance arrived Bob got in with Phil and began their trip to hospital. The sirens were blaring throughout the trip. When they arrived at the hospital they confirmed it was a broken leg and that Phil would be out of action for at least a few months.

When they got Phil to his ward he woke up.

“Aren’t you Bob “asked Phil suspiciously?

“Yes I am and thank you for saving my life, “said bob thankfully

“That’s all right that’s what friends do.” Said Phil holding out his hand in friendship. Bob took his hand firmly and gave it a shake.
Ever since the accident bob and Phil have been friends who always help each other out.

  2. Tom’s eyeballs frantically rolled side to side as he ran around the enormous school searching for his classroom. He was so anxious that he had passed his classroom without realising and had roamed into the rich part of the school. All of a sudden he felt the soft velvet carpet beneath his bare, dirty feet.
Tom peered into one of the classrooms. He was amazed by the neat rows full of clean and well dressed boys. They all sat in front of computers on padded chairs. The boys worked silently, not a single sound could be heard. One of the boys in the class started to make his way towards the door where Tom stood. Tom’s legs turned to jelly because he knew he was not allowed in the rich area of the school. He dashed to the nearest tree to hide. He slowly peered out from tree and saw James walking swiftly down the corridor. Shyly Tom followed the boy so that he could find his classroom. ” Can you tell me where my class is?” asked Tom. The boy turned and stared at Tom’s ragged clothes. the boy immediately knew that Tom was in the wrong part of the school and he scolded him. Tom was a very sensitive boy and fell to the ground crying. Tears poured out of his eyes like a waterfall.
The boy felt guilty Tom sobbing and did not know what to do to comfort him in a caring way. He sat down next to tom and apologised to him.
” I am extremely sorry to make you upset but I didn’t mean to hurt your feelings,” said the boy. ” My name is James Downcast, shall I take you to your classroom,” offered James
The pair of them became friends and shook hands. They happily walked together to Tom’s classroom and the journey of their friendship began from there.

    Why do people make friends?
People have friends so they are not lonely.
Some kids have to make new friends when they move house or move to a different country. I have a story about this.

I lived In a small village called Horndon on the Hill. I went to the village school and all the work there was as easy as pie and it was easy to make friends. Then the day came when I had to say bye to all my friends (I got lots of presents and cards). We all were good friends and now it felt broke.

My first day at my new school came and it was as terrifying as a kidnapper creeping up behind you. Soon we all made friends and played football and had chats.

Having friends is the best idea ever!

There was a terrifying war between the USA and Canada. Bombs were lighting up the sky and guns echoed through out the night. Everybody was paralysed with fear and soldiers marched up and down wishing to see their worried families again. As each year went by , both countries became distressed and fed up with having to fight. Eventually the countries signed a peace treaty and their leaders shook hands.

Summer was going to school for the first time. The school was a peaceful place, and was called Rollercoaster Country School. Summer knew how quiet the school was, because her older sister Charlotte went there.

When Summer got into school, she became puzzled, because on the board, written in big letters, were the words “Today is handshake day”. Underneath these words,  it told everyone to find a friend, and seal it with a handshake.  However, Summer was shy and and so she asked Miss Penny to ask the class if anyone else didn’t have a friend.

Miss Penny announced “Does anybody not have a friend?”

Olivia replied “No Miss, I don’t have one.”

Miss Penny declared “So Summer and Olivia, you can make friends, after chatting to each other!”

During breaktime, both Summer and Olivia realised that they had a lot in common, and sealed their friendship with a handshake.

    My Wedding

It was the day of my wedding. I was incredibly excited. I was stepping into my dress, while some of my friends made up my hair. My Dad waltzed into the room looking very handsome. He told me that in a few minutes we would be going to the chapel.

When we arrived at the gate of the chapel, nobody was in sight. “Where is everyone?” I questioned my Dad, but all he did was wink at me.

Like a thunder crash the organ started to play the Wedding March and my heart thudded in time to the wonderous music.

My father glanced at me, took my hand in his and as one we glided towards my future husband.

Inside the chapel it was like stepping into heaven. The caring faces of friends and family turned toward me like sunflowers moving to catch the suns rays. My Dad gave my hand a gentle, loving squeeze as if he had finally accepted his little girl had grown up. As graceful as a swan we swept down the aisle.

In front of me was the man of my dreams. With a dew drop tear in his eye my father placed my hand into the warm, soft palm of the man I loved.

As proud as a peacock my Dad took his place in the pews.

Hi, my name is Amelia-Rose. I live with my parents because I can’t afford to live on my own. I currently work in Shoes Limited as a shoe polisher. However, my dream job is to become a famous architect. I have tried out for so many jobs but sadly, nobody has accepted me.

But this all changed when I applied for a job at All Star Architect. They accepted my application and wanted to interview me! I was tickled pink but I had to contain my excitement, I hadn’t got the job yet.
The next day, I woke up with a start. It was interview day! I got ready as soon as I woke up. I still had butterflies in my stomach, what if I mess up? This could be the only time I would get an opportunity like this.

Three hours later, I was at All Star Architect, waiting to have my interview. When they called my name, I was worried and excited at the same time. A man asked me a few questions. After he firmly shook my hand and informed me that I had got the job! I was over the moon when I heard this and went home with grin on my face.

Seven months later, I was famous, I lived in a mansion and I was engaged. It really was my lucky day.

  8. W13 – Handshake

“Well done Jeff!” Congratulated the sports manager, Mr. Brown in a sincerely enthusiastic tone. “You’ve won the race!” He shook my hand ecstatically. I’d run faster than ever before and I’d won.
It was only 12 months before that I’d broken my ankle and now I’d won the running race. No wonder Mr. Brown was elated. I still remember the painful injury and the doctor saying there was a 90% chance I wouldn’t run competitively again and the determination that ran up my spine, the demanding evenings of training after school, the physiotherapy, and all the other grueling things. All through this, Mr. Brown was with me by my side. It was all worth it though. Definitely.
It was a fine day, the sky as blue as a sapphire, the clouds were cotton balls drifting across it in the gentle Spring breeze.
I’d won against 12 schools and I was surly the most proud and satisfied living thing in the universe that tremendous day.
Since then, I’ve won the many of the running races and my coach, Mr. Brown (also sports manager at our school) is always exultant and always shakes my hand with triumphant gusto as if it was the first time I’d won.

    New Neighbours
Near the South side of America, there lived a man called Eddie. He was to live in Britain but he wanted to live somewhere else to explore new things. When he got to his grand house, all his new neighbours held a ‘Welcome’ Party. They had drinks, wine and food. They also played music and party games. During the party, Eddie found a man near the drinks area all by himself. Eddy decided to keep him company.
‘’Hello,’’ said Eddie politely,’’ I’m Eddie.’’
    ‘’I’m Jeremy, Jeremy replied, scowling.
Eddie pretended not to notice Jeremy’s sour attitude.
‘’Do you want to go to the food table? I’m hungry,’’ Eddie asked.
‘’ Look Eddie, I like to keep to myself OK? Go and talk to someone else, maybe they can be your friend,’’ snapped Jeremy.
‘’I am very, very sorry to disturb you,’’ said Eddie apologetically.
‘’You should be,’’ snarled Jeremy, rudely.
    Then Jeremy stormed off.
Eddie decided to see why Jeremy was so rude by asking someone.
‘’Excuse me, do you know someone by the name of Jeremy?’’ he asked a young lady.
‘’Yes, he is very grumpy most of the time,’’ she replied.
‘’ Why is he so grumpy? ’’ Eddie questioned.
‘’He is grumpy because he always wants his own way,’’ she answered.
‘’He isn’t very pleased to see me,” Eddie explained.
“That is because he does not make friends very quickly,” she replied.
‘’No wonder he is so mean to me,’’ Eddie said
‘’Um, I think my friend is calling me, so I should go and greet her,’’ the lady asked impatiently.
    “Ok,” Eddie replied.
The next day for Eddie was ‘operation: make Jeremy like him.’
Eddie wanted to go for a stroll in the park to check whether Jeremy was there. Before he went, he decided to feed his cat but when he found his cat in her room and her paw had a large cut! Acting fast, Eddie bandaged her wound and immediately knew who did it. Jeremy.
When Eddie got to Jeremy’s house, Eddie was so furious he rang on Jeremy’s doorbell seven times.
Then the door opened and Jeremy’s face was sourer than ever.
“What do you want?”Jeremy asked, grimacing.
“How dare you injure my cat?” snapped Eddie.
“Well, you’re lucky I injured the cat and not you,” replied Jeremy, with a smug look on his face.
“I will plot revenge on you,” shouted Eddie.
    Then he stormed off.
Eddie had thought of a plan.
He decided to toilet paper the outside of Jeremy’s whole house. He started at seven o’ clock and finished at eight o’ clock. After that, Eddie had a goodnight’s sleep.

Early in the morning, there was a loud thump on the door. Eddie suspected it was Jeremy, but when he opened the door, it was Jeremy and a fierce looking councillor.
“How could you be so silly and do pranks on each other?” she snapped.
“He started it,” chorused Eddie and Jeremy together.
“I do not want to know,” she said.
Both Eddie and Jeremy hung their heads in shame.
“I both want you to shake hands and never let this happen again,” said the councillor.
So they both shook hands and vowed to never prank each other again.
Luckily, they kept that promise and became good friends.

    The Paralympics

The Paralympics is a special competition for people with a disability. This special event occurs every four years once the Olympics has been completed. Every four years, the Paralympics is held in a different city. Fortunately, it was held in London during the summer of 2012, so this enabled some lucky people to see some amazing athletes such as: David Weir, Oscar Pistorious and Ellie Simmonds. It was a very successful Paralympics.

Many different people take part and represent their country. You’re sorted into certain groups whom you’ll be facing in the upcoming weeks based on how severe your disability is. Even if you don’t get through the first round, you’ve still done extremely well because you have to go through many qualifying rounds so you can be selected for your country.

The Paralympics is a very special competition because it enables you to meet people from around the world who might not have met otherwise. Another reason is that it allows people who might have thought that sport had ended for them, to compete in competitions which they love.

If you’re lucky enough to have the chance to see this magnificent event, take it. You should take it because it’s amazing to watch and because it makes the competitiors (Paralympians) feel special.

If you have been inspired to watch the next Paralympics you can see it on your T.V. during the Summer of 2016 in the beautiful city of Rop De Janeiro.

Today the huge Westside school volley ball players were anxiously getting ready to win a game of volley ball at Maple school. Their team captin Lilly was a little girl but she led a big team. She was sneakily thinking of a plan to win. The small grey coach they were travelling in was as dull as a black and white picture and it was now time to get on it.

After a 2 hour coach ride in a tiny space, they came to the crowded volley ball pitch. After half an hour of waiting patiently Lillys beautiful mum Claire and her smart dad Bob came running quickly to meet her at the coach. Lilly’s mum Claire was as tall as a giraffe whilst her dad Bob was quite short and young. “Lilly its time to win this game,” they both cried and they started running to a cart full of delicious smelling sizzling sausages.

Maple school were a tiny team but you could see the determination in their eyes. “100 points to home and 50 points to guests,” called out Paul, Maple schools snack man. Maple schools team captin David was playing rough but quite fairly. Thirty minutes had gone and suprisingle Westside ere about to win, they just needed this score when smash Lilly scored. “Good game,” David said politely whilst shaking hands with Lilly.

Every Westside player was proud and cheering whilst Paul was being very rude and making faces because he was disapanted with his home team.

Lilly never forgot the day they won at Maple school.

The light danced round the arena like red, blue and white butterflies. The music bellowed its dark, low-pitched tunes, ready to wake up anybody who came to the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics with their eyes half closed. A girl in a frilly white dress and blonde, wavy hair leaped onto the stage and stared around, her mouth gaping. All around her danced the blown up balloons of Russia’s wonders. Beautiful animals of all sorts danced around the walls and pictures of tall monuments lit up the floor. A speaker swurved round and echoed into all the ears in the seats “Please welcome, the athletes!”
Applause erupted from all sides of the stalls; cheering as the first team majestically paraded around the stage, their flags waving. Brazil. Cries of despair arose from the Great Britain’s supporters. Brazil had beaten them in the disastrous match in which they won 12-1. However, the English ice-hockey team was determined to win against them.
After all the teams had proudly marched around the circle the first match was soon to be begun. The speaker announced, “Brazil verses Turkey!” The English fans relaxed, surely it wouldn’t be such a hard match? However, the team was in bad luck. After the first match Brazil had beaten Turkey 5-0 and so were through to the semi-finals, against England.
The match started off badly for the English team. Their star player, Percy Jackson had badly injured his right leg and so could not attend this match. Not so long after the whistle for the start of the match went Brazil scored 2 tremendous goals sending England into chaotic panic. However Zac King was truly moved. Maybe it was the fact that he was feeling sorry for Percy or he was just very determined but in the second half of the game Zac chased the ball across the rink, slipped himself under the goalkeepers feet and drove the ball into the net, 2-1! With 5 minutes to go Zac had scored another amazing goal evening the score. Toot! The whistle went for the end of the game. The players congratulated each other and shook hands. I’m sure today will be a day to remember!

It was the Tennis finals today! I had gone through so many Tennis matches and now I am in the final. How amazing! Feeling excited although a bit frightened, my coach and me walked out into the arena and immediately the deadly silent crowd started to cheer like maniacs.

The match started with my fans cheering louder than ever. I had never challenged such a hard opponent so I tried my best. It seemed like it was never going to, unfortunately, near the end, I accidently slipped it and lost. In the inside I felt awful but in the outside I tried not to show it by smiling. Both of us hasted of the net, it was the first time we had ever met. We shook hands and greeted each other by saying well done. I knew I had done the right thing and I knew that was what a real sportsman would do. Although I felt gutted about losing, I also felt proud of myself.

  14. Archie says:

Dave shivered as he turned over in his torn sleeping bag. It was another freezing night and as usual 21 year old Dave was dozing on the isolated streets of London. When Dave was five his mother passed away and he lived with his father but at the age of 20 his dad disappeared and left Dave with no money. He couldn’t afford to pay for the house so was evicted. Since then he’s lived on the streets, eating discarded food from passersby, sleeping in a ripped sleeping bag in a local church and hating his life.

One sunny morning, Dave was looking at a rejected kids magazine, that he had found in the train station, when someone tapped him on the back. “Hey Dave” the figure said “It’s me John.” Dave recognised the smiley face from when he was a kid, John was one of his pals at primary school. “Hey John” Dave curiously replied, they chatted for hours and hours, discussing old memories from when they were little. John was sad about Dave’s terrible life and felt sorry for him. He bought Dave some food and gave him £20 and told him he’d see him again soon. John returned every day to see Dave and eventually asked him “Do you want to come and live with me?”
“Yes please!” Dave said excitedly and with that they strolled off.

When they got back John said “Go and buy yourself some new clothes”. Dave went shopping with some money John had given him but secretly bought a football kit. When Dave got home he changed into his kit locked the doors and started football training. He loved football when he was a young boy. Meanwhile John was watching him, John had a secret he was a football manager, and he thought Dave was amazing! After a month John said to Dave “Do you play football?”
“No” Dave quickly replied, he was scared that John might find out he had bought the kit.
“Yes you do, because I saw you training” John said
“Alright, I confess I have been training” Dave said in a defeated voice.
“Would you like to play for my team?” announced John
    “Yes!” Dave screamed with joy
“Sign here and there” John said producing a contract, they shook hands and Dave felt for the first time true happiness.
    THE END

  15. Sandhana says:

It was kind of time when white people couldn’t be with black. When I was a little girl my hole family told me NEVER to play black people their horrible little things. But in my heart I knew that one day I would break that rule.

My name is Isabel I’m white and my best friend Isabeth is black. We will never forget how we came together.

I was strolling through the fields when I heard something ……………………. a screech. I rolled down the steep hill to find the dangerous part of the field. There were deep holes dug every where to catch animals. I ran carefully down to were I heard crying. I looked down one of the holes and saw a black girl trying to stop herself from slipping into the trap. I couldn’t bear watching I had to hold out my hand but if I did I would be rebellious to my family.
Either hold hands for once or leave and walk away.
I had no choice , for the first time in my life I disobeyed my family and I held out my hand out and then felt a stern grab. I pulled with all my might but nothing happened.
So I had an idea and fetched an odd sort of branch and said to her ” Grab hold of this ” Then I pulled.
Just then a little head popped out and then the body.
When I first glimpsed at her I thought that she was a skeleton compared to me. ” Pardon me for staring but I haven’t met such a skinny girl in my life” I said. Her mouth opened and said ” It’s okay I’m used to it, anyway my name is Isabeth thank you for saving me ”
I took my backpack and unzipped it while saying ” It’s okay my name is Isabel and here have some food ”
I passed her my shiny red apple and she quickly ate it.
After she had eaten we walked across the field holding hands and played games like chase and hide and seek.
I didn’t care that I was playing with a black girl all that I cared was making a new friend.

  16. The Deal

“Pleased to meet you,” said the man, shaking the other gentlemen’s hand gently. “It’s a pleasure to meet you,” said the gentleman who came for a job, still shaking hands.
The two men stood at the cafe, introducing each other. The man who came for the job was an ordinary waiter at a hotel restaurant, with a part-time job of working as a gardener and the other man was the man who put up the advertisement in the newspaper.

“ May I know your name please,” said Paul, the waiter, inquisitively.
“Yes my name is John, and what is yours?” asked John
“Oh, my name is Paul, can I know what the task is please?” questioned Paul
“Of course, I want you too go and steal two of Monet’s paintings and you will get rewarded with a total of $10,000, I would never miss this thrilling opportunity,” replied John fearlessly.
“May I know if you are joking,” asked Paul
“Oh I never joke and if you want to miss this chance then of you go,” grinned John with a persuasive voice. Paul thought and wondered that he might get caught and sent to prison.

“ The money first, please,” demanded Paul aggressively.
“Be patient my lad, you will get the money,” said John.
“Let’s shake on that first though,” said John.
The two men shook on this and Paul grabbed the money quickly and walked out of the cafe without a word.
Will Paul return with Monet’s fine paintings or will he be selfish and take the money himself?

  17. Oscar says:

It began with a secret, mysterious handshake. John was the newest recruit to the undercover British organisation known as MI205.

‘BANG!’ John had gone outside, into the ‘white world’. Suddenly there was another ‘BANG!’ A nitro oxygen powered bullet suddenly shot past John’s upper rib. Even though he noticed it, John did not dodge or turn around, that was, until it hit the building in front of him. The buildings were made of a special material – Ratamiouse, a plastic which deflected anything that hit it, which meant the bullet instead bounced off the building making an ear piercing sound, tempting John so much to turn around, that he did.

Five men, all in tuxedo’s, arranged two at that back, two in front of them and one in front came forward.
“Who are you?” asked John curiously.
“MI205” answered the one at the front rapidly, whilst taking off his shades.
“You’re not supposed to be out here,” said John excusably.
    “No,” he answered. “John…”
“Wait,” John interrupted, “how do you know my name?”
“I know everyone’s name, I even know mine!” he said.
“That is?” John asked, joining in the joke.
“Nick, Nick Smith, and like I was saying you are John, John Patrick,” Nick answered. “The thing is we want you to help us. I’ll tell you more at our base, but are you in?” he asked putting out his hand ready for John to shake.
    “No,” said John.
He courageously span around and walked off. Suddenly John felt something hit his ankle – a gun! Nick had kicked his gun to John.
    “Deal,” said John.
They gripped each other’s hands and shook them up and down.
    __________________________________________________________________________________
John had been taken underground to a building from the past.
“There’s a new machine called GLOW,” said Nick. “If you activate it everything in the universe will bow down to the activator” he carried on.
“So, where are we getting to?” asked John.
    “Well…”
One of the spies interrupted, “Sir!”
“Not now!” exclaimed Nick. ”So where was I?”
“But Sir!” interrupted the Spy again.
“Let me finish!” barked Nick. “Someone’s trying to steal it and that where you come in. You are going to stop them.”
“Now, what is it?” Nick asked of the spy.
“Someone’s stolen the Glow!” came the reply.

    The decision

In the center of the famous and well known city in America, New York, there is a serious businessman named Andrew Charles. An old, greedy man with piles of cash and high expectations. He doesn’t believe in luck nor love therefor doesn’t feel a heart string for the environment. In addition, as of today he is slowly but surely ruining America. As a result of this, he is gaining many, many enemies all over the globe. Nevertheless, people somehow love his ideas therefor, bow down to his great power and influence. throughout all of his vile feelings he is still a man of his word and will do whatever it takes to get his own way, a man that knows this all too well is Lee Clark…

Lee is a young, hard-working, generous man with wealth (but he doesn’t boast about it). Love is all Lee thinks about and tries to help the environment by building parks and forests with all of his money. He is helping the city with his useful buildings and intelligent decisions. People adore his helpful ideas because they’re smart, Eco-friendly ways of living therefore, his kindness and social dealings is taken into his advantage. In addition, he will get his way but through a fair considering deal.

One frightening day, these two men wanted to knock down a building but they both wanted to knock it down for their own job employment. They gave effective reasons of why they would knock it down. That was a huge mistake onto America. Andrew pleasantly asked Lee for the building but Lee protested when he realized the benefit of the building because it was next to Central park and the Empire State building. Andrew left the building fiercely but wasn’t going to give up that easily. Andrew took the matter int his own hands and went to another dealer, who agreed, on the same day that Lee was, it was going to be chaos! What was going to happen?

The next day, cranes and wrecking balls were being set up and ready to knock down this huge, interrogating building.Lee gave Andrew a menacing look and Andrew gave a cruel look back. The workmen shouted, ‘3…2…1..go!!!’
the giant balls CLASHED and CLANGED and BOOMED together until finally KANG! The wrecking balls had clashed together and the workmen had just realized what they had done… the rock-hard cement was falling all the way down to citizens below and everybody gasped. Andrew looked at Lee with a terrified face and Lee gave a shocked look back.

Later that day in the office Lee was reading the news paper guiltily when Andrew walked in slowly.
‘Errrm… Hi Lee. you alright?’ asked Andrew quietly.
‘No, what have we done?’ Lee slowly looked up at Andrew in a guilty way.
The destruction site was not completed and Lee didn’t want to carry on and neither did Andrew. They agreed to disagree and shook hands on their differences. Andrew was a changed man and Lee was more aware of people than animals. They both worked in partnership and were almost as if ‘heroes’ of the city…..

“Bonjour, bonjour!” said Sandrine as she was walking in the village hall looking for her friend Michelle and family to say goodbye. She was ready to start her new life in England with her husband Louis who worked in the French medical center as a doctor. We was offered a job in England, which was going to be very challenging,. The next day they were driving to Paris for their flight to Canterbury, which involved a tediously, tiring, tormenting wait in the airport, four hours before the flight was scheduled to leave.
“I’m very sad that I left my friends and family but at least we will have a good time.” Sobbed Sandrine on the plane as it was about to land.
There it was, the house which they were to live in. The miniature cottage with a magnolia tree which had bloomed. Roses which had petals flying through the air and the nice smell of fresh bread wafting through the breeze. They opened the squeaky door. Inside was very gloomy. It was as frightening as a ghost. Suddenly, two daunting figures walked behind them.
“Hi my name is Karen and this is Richard. We are your new neighbors. Would you like to come to the French restaurant with us?” said Karen, who appeared elated because of the huge smile on her face.
Sandrine and Louis were thinking to themselves and muttering to each other.
“Sure we will go!” exclaimed Louis unsure of himself.
So they got settled in the house and got ready to go the French restaurant. Sandrine was wearing a mauve dress with material flowers, ballet flats and marbled pearl earrings. Louis was wearing a black suit with a blue striped tie. They walked peacefully along the road until they got to the restaurant. They opened the golden door with a smile on their face but with their hearts racing fast like a waterfall. The music was very tranquil and the atmosphere reminded them of the French restaurant the used to go to in France. They saw Karen and Richard and sat at the table with silk lined chairs and lace napkins.
The evening went really quickly and it was full of laughter and really fine and delicious French cuisine. At the end of the night they shook each other’s hands full with happiness that they made new friends. For them it started to feel like home; but was their new life in England going to be event-less?

    Geek’s new friend

I am a geek. I have always been a geek and now, when it’s my first day in secondary school I feel more like a geek than ever. When you are a geek like me you don’t have any friends. However on my first day in secondary school I found my first friend. Geek’s are like peas in a very cramped pod. In fact people sometimes call weirdo’s like us the same names.
Eleanor was just on her way to the first maths class in secondary school when she found a boy sitting on a bench in a small corner of the playground. She sat down next to the boy.” I expect you have come to call me names” said the boy suddenly.” Well actually no I wasn’t” replied Eleanor. The boy did not talk immediately and Eleanor understood why because as you might have guessed already she was a geek too. ” My name is Jordan ” said the boy.
And after that Eleanor and Jordan became best friends. They even shook hands. The day that affirmation happened a feeling so powerful occurred it encased both of them for a very long time. That feeling was love…

    Friendship

One bright summer’s morning, the sky was an ocean blue and the clouds were cotton wool. The sun danced merrily on the lime green leaves making its veins visible. You could hear the whisper of the breeze and the birds singing merrily. The ruby and sapphire flowers were piles of jewels.
It was my first day at school and I was not only feeling quite nervous, but excited too. I thought about whether I would make friends and get bullied. As I walked to school I took a deep breath and carried on with my journey. When I arrived at the colossal school I stared in wonder and awe at the sight of it and the number of children.
I had a great day and made friends with an asian boy called Bilal. We talked and played together the whole day and by the end of school we were firm friends. We shook hands.
    Then I strolled home.
When I got home, I told my mum all about my day at school and my new asian best friend, Bilal

“Do we have to go to the boring boot sale?” moaned Max.
“Remember Max, your Mum loves shopping!” replied Max’s Dad.
    “But Dad…” said Max.
“We are going to the boot sale because your Mum love’s shopping!” interrupted Dad.
    “Come on.” mumbled Max.
So once they got to the boot sale, Max got out of car with big frown. Max hated boot sales because he doesn’t get anything (sarcastically.) His Dad gave him £30.99 and Max went to go buy some toys.

Max was wandering around and then he saw…
A box full of Simpson Comics! He wanted to get all of them. So he went up to the man who was selling the comics and Max asked
“How much is all these comics?”
    “£30.00” replied the man
“I’ll by them then, ok.” replied Max
    “Ok.” said the man.
And Max put down the £30 on the table and they shook hands. Tom carried the box but just then this bully came up next to him.

The bully is called Tom, and Tom was about to start a fight, but Max just ran away. Max found his Dad and Max told what had just happened. Even with the bully, Max actually started to like boot sales now because he was able to buy lots of his favorite Simpsons comics. Max would never forget this day.

    HANDSHAKES!

This is why handshakes were invented. When two people become partners/friends they talk to each other more regularly. So when two people wanted to become friends they decided to make a special communication system. This is the start of the handshakes.

Handshakes were invented to confirm that two/group of friends were united. They were the 2nd best things that have ever happened to mankind in generations/centuries. . OF COURSE IT’S BEHIND CHOCOLATE, WHERE ELSE WOULD IT BE! Soon it was made official that handshakes verify friendships.

Some handshakes were made for clubs and that there password was a handshake. Normally for this they’re secret, not just ordinary. They’re handshakes always have be secret not matter what the circumstances will be. If they broke the rules they would change their passwords to codes or words.

No one wanted to not use the special invention. Even other fascinated countries copied the mind-blowing idea. Surprisingly, China clichéd the idea-even though they made fortunes making affordable products.

    A good friend

Once there was a boy named Mike, he lived in New York with his grandparents. He was very lonely as his parents were out in Japan on some “work”. He did not have siblings and the thing he missed was a friend.

Books were his only friend. From sea monsters to a warrior he always lived in a magical world of books. The only subject was English. He was a very honest and obedient boy, but he never opened up to anyone.

On his 13th birthday is Grandma called “Mike dear please come down”.
Mike came downstairs and was surprised to see a present on the table. He unwrapped hastily. It was a diary! Mike loved the gift, he called it Percy and it had become his best friend.

It was a pleasant morning, but not such a pleasant morning for Mike. It was the day of his maths exam. He had come prepared but during the exam a boy named Rick asked him for the answers in a rather rude and low tone. Mike shook his head and got on with the exam. After the exam, Mike was bullied by Rick for not showing him the answers. Mike felt very lost and upset but he did not want to complain. Rick was such a boy that no one dared to raise a voice against him.

That day while narrating the incident to Percy, he got an idea.

    The diary entry:

    Dear Percy

Today was not such a bad day. My exam went awesome but I got bulled by a boy called Rick. Maybe it was my mistake that I did not show him the idea. I felt very sad. I guess I shouldn’t sit beside Rick next time. But that’s not the solution. Hey Percy you have given me a great idea, I should gather up information on Rick because I believe nobody is bad just some of their deeds are bad.
    Mike

The next day Mike shared lunch with Rick and found out that he was a lonely boy too. His parents had died when he was four. He also helped Rick with his English homework and taught to be nice to others. From then on Mike and Rick were best friends.

So you see being friends helped both Mike to open up and helped Rick to be a kind and humble person.

“Oh alright but we’ve got to be quick because soon the big show will begin,” John said.”Darling stay there will you we don’t want to lose our spot.”
So John and Thomas walked to the stand but something caught Thomas’s eye that made him wonder off, unfortunately when Thomas looked back he couldn’t see the stand anymore.
“Excuse me chid are you lost?” the man asked ,who had a strong biceps and was gripping on to a kid that Thomas was guessing his son,
Thomas jumped in fright” Um yes.”

” Hey ,you bullies hands off the boy.” I said
“Who is going to make us puny little boy.” Replied the bullies
“Come on gang lets you them how it’s done.” I said
The good gang chased the bullies away.
“Are you alright, you know we could be friends one day you never know.”I said
With that I turned and ran away. Few years passed and me and the boy became friends.

Once upon at time there were two friends named Harry and Meeth, they were the best of great friends but they didn’t always got along with each other for instance one day Harry thought a answer to a question was right but Meeth told him it wasn’t right was wrong Harry was a bit annoyed with this so he answered the question anyway but when Harry got told it was wrong he blamed that Meeth didn’t tell him that so Meeth ran off upset by his best friend.

After school Harry went to say sorry to Meeth but he couldn’t find him so he looked all over the place to find him but he couldn’t so Harry sat down on the rough ground like a bomb falling from the sky. Then Harry thought how mean he was to Meeth and knew he was not being a good friend so he whispered to himself

“Now how am I going to get my friend back?”

So Harry got up again like a growing seed and went to search for his best friend to say sorry. While Harry searched for Meeth, Meeth in his little hiding spot sobbed to himself
“Oh why does Harry always have to be so mean to me? I was only trying to help him and besides he knows how upset I get sometimes so what kind of a friend is he?”
Once Harry found Meeth alone in his spot Meeth yelled at him

“YOU KNOW HOW UPSET I GET! WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO MAKE ME SO SAD!

“I am sorry, I didn’t know how much I really upset you!”

“Well you should of thought of that before you blamed me!”

Roared Meeth as loud as a lion, which then really upset Harry

“I thought you were my best friend in the world! whimpered Harry in sad tone “I treated you like you were my brother!”

Realising what the two of the boys did, Meeth apologised to Harry for running off and yelling at him and Harry said sorry to Meeth for blaming him and for upsetting him. So the two boys shook hands and they were friends again like dog and man.

    The History of Shaking Hands.
We don’t exactly know what happened because we don’t have written texts to tell us, but you can imagine whatever you want, like it started all the way back to the Stone Age. So I’m here to tell you about the history of handshaking.
Archaelogical objects and ancient texts show us that handshaking was used all the way back in the 4th Century BC, when the Ancient Greeks were around. Pots show soldiers shaking hands to agree on a trade or to congratulate each other.
Some people think that shaking hands is a kind gesture of peace by demonstrating that they hold no weapon and are not to hurt anyone.
As you see shaking hands is quite important, even if you think it is something silly.

  35. Lauren Cooper says:

It was a clear, blue Sunday morning – specks of white fluff where dotted around the creamy sky. Grassy hills sprang here and there and flowers bloomed on the soft earth. Two rivals, both boys, were locked in their separate rooms and a frantic mother was calling them for tea. The boys were twins. Jason and Dylan were their names and they used to be really close together when they were little. They’d share and look out for each other up until they were five years old. On that birthday, Hatred had ripped them apart. Dylan and Jason wouldn’t even talk to each other! Their mother was still shouting for them to come down “Come on boys! You’re ten years old and you act like you’re two! Come down!” Of course the boys didn’t want to come down because they hated each other. But if they didn’t, their mother would explode! So Jason quietly tipped – toed across the landing and down the escape chute that led into the garden. Ten minutes later, Dylan did the same, hoping that Jason wasn’t down there already. When he emerged, Dylan’s smiling face turned into a frown as he turned his back. Jason followed. Suddenly, there was a tearing sound as the sky split open and a blinding flash of purple light hit Jason and Dylan. Once the sky was back to normal the two boys swiveled back round and hugged, tears rolling down their cheeks. Their hands clasped and they made a pact that nothing will stand in the way of their friendship. “We better get back to mum or she’ll ground us for a month,” Dylan told Jason. They were speaking?! When they finally got back into the house for tea, Jason and Dylan made no fuss or complaining and they begged their mum to sleep in the same room as each other.

Calum, an inquisitive eleven year-old, had hazel eyes and short, neat hair and a straight nose. This boy was very lonely but did not seem to mind. He was also intelligent and smart.
In contrast, Bella was a popular girl who gossiped a lot. She was slender and petite, crystal-blue eyes and amber, tangled hair. Freckles are planted on her rosy-red cheeks ubiquitously.
Calum blithely hopped around the spacious playground, whilst Bella sluggishly ambled around with her pugnacious companion. Clumsily, Calum tripped over and Bella was flabbergasted as Calum blocked her. Reluctantly, Bella helped him up and heaved him to First Aid. ‘Cheers!’ Calum whispered, cringing his face as he gripped his hip. ‘Any time.’ Bella replied.
