“Look at that !” Sally shouted as she stared at a mysterious and very spooky house.
“I’m scared,” my little brother Charlie complained.
“I’m right here Charlie ,don’t worry,” I replied.
My three friends, my little brother and I then wandered bravely into the mansion .
The floor was dirty and black with cobwebs on the ceiling and scary pictures on the walls.
“I don’t like it here, I want to go home,” Charlie complained.
“Come on Charlie it’s Halloween ! Let’s explore a little bit more,”my boyfriend Nick repled

Jackie and her cousin George creeped nervously through the dark, dank wood. “J..Jackie, I think we should go back now, its a bit cold and I’m sort of getting an odd feeling about this place,” whispered George,
“Oh George we’re almost there can’t you just hold on for a minute?” Jackie replied pleadingly “come on.”
“Fine then ,” George said hoping not to sound like a coward. They trekked onwards until Jackie stopped and tilted her head upwards, George knew she was staring at something so he looked up as well and to his amazement he found he was gazing at a tall, thin house with dark stone walls and a scratched front door which was wide open as if calling them to come in. Geoge felt a hand wrap itself round his wrist and pull him fowards, ” George…George come on… lets go!” urged Jackie but George wriggled his wrist out of Jackie’s hand.
“No Jackie,” he replied “it’s not safe!” but Jackie was already rushing in to the house. Knowing no better George ran in straight in after her, and was confronted by a pitch black darkness that seemed to be everlasting. ” Jackie….Jackie are you in here?” Suddenly, he heard footsteps coming closer and closer. “Jackie… i… is that you?” A hand as cold as ice clutched his shoulder tightly.

    The saviour
On foggy night in a big dark castle lived a powerful cruel wizard. The wizard was very evil. When someone came to his castle he would kill them. Many people tried his grand castle had skeletons and guards. The police could not kill the well dressed wizard because, they lost their weapons. The wizard took them.

That morning a young brave boy was born, his name was John. He was a strong child (he was 8years old). This boy was very intelligent; he didn’t have to go to school. His mum bought him gadgets because he was earning from working.

When John was about 14 years old he wanted to kill the wizard. John was strong and courageous so he was not scared. Quickly he joined all of the fighting classes. He trained so hard he could beat his dad!

Suddenly John appeared at the wizard castle. He had a sword and a shield. The sword had great big scary patterns on it; the shield had EPIC written on it. John was fighting the wizard for the world. He … won! When John went back to his world he was really famous, they called him the saviour.

I woke from a tranquil sleep,
What pool am I in it isn’t deep?

I thought I was singing along,
    I can’t remember the song.

Infront of me is a rustic house,
What is hiding? It’s deffenatly not a mouse.

Vampires and Zombies live in there,
The only scary thing that doesn’t is a bear.

On comes a light with a flash,
    I think I should make a dash.

Out comes an ogre standing tall,
before long I feel very small.

    Suddenly I start to shake,
Until with a jump I wake.

    Was it a dream,
    or have I seen,
    Something very mean?

    Game Over!

I was staying at my Nanny and Grandads house, it’s massive, scary and right in the middle of The Withered Woods, about 10 hours away from my house.

When I got there Nan and Grandad opened the door, they were very faint, almost see-through. I wondered what was going on. I went in cautiously, it was gloomy, dusty and freezing. I could barely see anything. The door slammed behind me, the latch locked into place and was jammed, Nan and Granpa had vanished.

I pick up a dusty head-light and switch it on. I start to hear mysterious things like creaking doors opening and ear piercing screams. I run worriedly to the top of the endless stairs and my bedroom door is wide open. I enter my room slowly, there a black figure sat on the bed. It stares at me hungrily. It’s blood red eyes glinting in the darkness. He rapidly charges at me. “It’s a vampire!” I scream horrified. I fly down the stairs followed by him. The door is jammed. “This must be a dream, this must be a dream!” I think to myself anxiously. But there is no escape. It is game over for me.

    The Haunted House

Hi, I’m Aidan and I’m here to tell you about a story that happened long ago on an eerie Halloween night.

I was out with my friends trick or treating, when we came across an old, crumbling rather spooky and haunted looking house. My friends dared me to go inside, of course I said no but they started saying that I was a pathetic, scared loser and I had to give in. I faced the house and walked up to the front door.

Without me knocking the door suddenly creaked open. Without a second thought I cautiously stepped inside the house. At once the door slammed behind me and the lights turned on. I walked down the corridor until I heard the clanking of metal. I darted around and saw a piece of armour chasing me. I sprinted as fast as I could screaming, but the armour was gaining until it slipped over, now was my chance. If I could shake him off I would be able to go outside and could carry on the night as normal, but suddenly a ghost appeared.

“Going somewhere?” he questioned. I clenched my fists and took a swing, but straight away it dissolved. By now the armour had caught up with me. I ran into another room, but it was a dead end! Out the corner of my eye I could see a window, it was my only hope. I opened the window, the armour was within an arm’s length but l leaped out the window and landed on a bush right in front of my friends.

“Ha ha ha!” they all laughed in unison.

“That was hysterical!” said one of my friends, with that I ran home and have never been trick or treating since.
So here’s a tip, whenever your friends pressure you to do something or give you a dare why don ‘t you just say, why don’t you do it yourself.

    The House Next-Door

Josie Appleby lives on Peril Street, right next to an old, derelict , abandoned mansion. Little did Josie and her friends realise what perils awaited them when their ball went missing over the fence…
One fine summers morning, Josie was happily playing with her two friends, Bettie and Joe. They were playing catch with her stunning, brightly coloured new baby-pink ball. Unfortunately, they were messing about and not looking too much where the ball was being thrown. Josie’s generous dad had recently got her a brand new basketball net, so the three friend decided to try it out, Bettie went first. Of course, over it went.
“Oh, great!” moaned Josie sarcastically. “We’ll never get it back now- that old house is abandoned.”
” Let’s just use the side gate then. Problem solved!” Suggested Joe enthusiastically.
” There isn’t one so we will have to go through the house,” grumbled Josie, glaring at Bettie.

    5 MINUTES LATER…
As the gang approached the gloomy mansion, they realised that the periphery was full of overgrown nettles and thorns as sharp as daggers. All three had second thoughts, but they continued on determinedly .
Moments later, they arrived at the dusty , rusty, unhinged door and they pushed it open, it gave a tremendous creak and crashed to the floor with a thunderous thud. With great trepidation the trio cautiously tiptoed into the eerie entrance hall.
Time went by, and as the children ventured further into the dilapidated building they heard what sounded like the beat of small wings behind them. For a split second all three stood mesmerised by what they heard. Then, suddenly, they spun around noticing that the dark air looked like it was moving. Bats!
In a hysterical frenzy they skedaddled through the nearest door, slamming it shut with great strength…..
Would they ever get out? All because of a brand new baby-pink ball…

  7. Mum and Dad dropped me off at gran’s house while they were at work. Before my eyes, stood a dull, unwelcoming mansion. I set foot into the dwelling and beside my foot was a dead body. It was gran’s body and blood was dripping from her face. As I was a child I found it quite frightening to see my gran lying there with a bullet in her head.
I looked around trying to find a phone but it started to seem hopeless. I walked down the corridor looking and to my left something stood out to me; it was a photo of gran. A huge cross was painted red on her photo. That was a clear sign that someone was planning to kill her. I looked through the window and the sky was studded with golden stars. Suddenly I saw that really relieved my fright. Behind the grey sofa was gran’s new phone. Rapidly I ran to the phone and punched in the number of the ambulance while beads of sweat rolling down my anxious face. I told them where I was and what had happened.
Within ten minutes a blaring siren from and my heart was pounding as fast as a cheetah. Suddenly when I tried to open the door to let the ambulance come in, I found out it was jammed. “The door is jammed!” I shouted. They replied back to me, “Don’t worry, stand aside and we will push the door down!”
I ran away from the door and then I heard a loud crush. In came a whole crew of people and I explained to them what had happened. They reassured me by telling me everything would be fine and Mom and Dad were coming soon. I was glad that I was safe and not trapped in the elephantine mansion.

    The haunted house

Paralysed with fear, Tom crept with caution into the isolated mansion. Every step he took, he looked back to make sure that no one was following him. CRREEAAKK!!!! he heard. Unconsciousness took the better of him. He saw the glistering shine of something sharp, this sent cold shivers down his spine. He heard a dark voice say,
“Whoever dares to enter the mansion shall die !”
Adrenaline pumped through Tom’s veins because of fear. He ran as fast as a cheetah out of the mansion never to be seen again.

    Haunted House

Horrible haunted feeling shiver down my spine.
Angry ghosts look at me in a spooky way.
Until I step into the house they are all gone.
Now I’m fully in, I can heR esky empty echoes.
Then as quick as a blink of an eye something flew past me.
    Enchanting sound caught my ear.
Drums are heard in the distance, while I was trying to catch the Othe sound.
Historical laughter echoes through the house.
Outside there was a dark ghost
Underneath me the ground shook every time the ghost moves.
Sounds echoing while he was moving towards me.
Ending my life, I closed my eyes!

  10. Lizzie says:

    The house.
The window sheds a bit of light,
The screaming voices of the night.
    Creaking footsteps can be heard,
The endless cawing of a bird.
The open door swings to and fro,
    Tree’s shadows slowly grow.
The thundering cackling of a beast,
The tint of poison in the feast.
The slanted house as black as coal,
Will feed on a lively child’s soul.
The translucent mist circles your shoes,
The witch watches and never moves.
    Waiting for her innocent prey,
She wants someone to come and play.
Her garden of magic holds children’s graves.
    Standing there in crooked ways.
The trees guard and block the sun,
Watching what the world has become.
They work as their mistress will wait,
Waiting patiently for an easy bait.
The house stands under skies of grey,
This may be the only place for you to stay!

  11. Isla says:

    It was Halloween.

A group of boys were gathered outside an imposing mansion.

It sent shivers down anyone’s spine just looking at it, but these boys showed no fear, even though they were shaking like a timid little mouse.

Then one boy proudly announced “I have had an idea! Why doesn’t one of us knock on the midnight black door of the spine chilling, blood freezing residence to face its iniquitous inhabitants?”

    No-one moved a muscle.

He tried again. Still no-one moved.

“Fine,” He sighed “we’ll have to do short straws.”

A pale ebony haired boy pulled the shortest straw.

“Come on Jago!” they all urged.

So, with a tremble in his step, Jago advanced towards the domicile.

    He knocked.

It resounded all around the house.

    The door swung open…….

    His friends held their breath.

As quick as lightening Jago was dragged into the household.

    The remaining boys’ wits broke.

With a eardrum splitting shriek, they deserted Jago.

Jago stood at the window laughing all the while. He has tricked them!

Unbeknown to him, a dark foreboding figure moved out of the gloom.

He had a face as grey as ash, huge scarlet lips, white fangs, dripping with blood, producing from the sides of his mouth.

    Jago turned around.

“What are you doing in my new settlement?” boomed a rich voice.

    “Hi Dad.” Jago answered.

    The Ghost.
…………..my story takes place on a dark stormy night

One day a man called Tom who very much needed a home, he had been searching for over a month ,on a stormy night Tom found the perfect home , a couple of hours later Tom was cleaning the cobwebs out of the corners when suddenly he slipped and fell down the hard wooden stairs, and sadly he died before the doctors could save him .

5 months later a boy Joseph and his family moved into Tom’s house about 6 weeks later their parents went on a cruise leaving Joseph and his sister Beth at home. Suddenly the house began to shake and they couldn’t keep the fear out of their eyes.
“I think someone is stalking us” said Beth seeing the shadowy figure pass behind Joseph. They called the sheriff.
“I’ll be right over” said the sheriff
Before the sheriff arrived they decided to investigate so Joseph suggested that they should go into the attic “ghosts are always in the attic “he said and as they walked in a could chill ran up their spines , the a shadowy figure out of nowhere shouted “ boo ”and they raced out faster than lightning do the stairs.
“Beth, I’m here “called the sheriff
“There’s someone in the house!!!!”Cried Beth
The sheriff looked and looked but found nothing,
“There’s nothing here, call me next time it happens or get some evidence. “And he left
The children were confused “we saw it didn’t we? Joseph! Are you even listening to me?” Said Beth
So they went into the attic and befriended the ghost and agreed to live together in peace.

    The Sinister, Haunter House.

There lived a malicious man, who thought badly of everyone else. He’s not generous like everyone else in his neighbourhood. He pops footballs, breaks bikes, pops ballons and shouts at the young generation! He hates everyone, and that’s why he lives in a haunted house!

His haunted house, which is as scary as a vampire, stands menacingly opposite a delightful, minute cottage. This haunted house glares at the cottage, whilst planning something arrogant. The colossal abode, is a sinister monster which protects the menace inside. The menace insde, was planning to harm this beautiful cottage, which damages nothing!

The next day, the two young residents of the cottage overheard the despicable man’s plans. They swiftly sprinted home and informed their parents. The parents were scared once they heard and immediately visited the spine-chilling menace. Then, in the blink of any eye, they’re standing at the evil house.

The family storm into the house and bombard the menace with questions. They plead with him, and eventually he gives up. He sees this benevolent family as they really are. He aborts his plan and apologises. The family forgive him.

For the next week, the contemptible menace acts with a warm heart. He is kind and generous for now……..for now.

  14. Grace says:

    The Haunted mansion
    Darkness
Mist was like an icy breath,
    Shivering down your spine.
    Trees, bushes and gnarled limbs,
    Like ghostly stooped figures.

    Mist

    A blanket of grey mist,
No light was to be seen,
A cloak of fog around the haunted mansion,
    Covering it for eternity.

    Life

The only thing living were rats,
Who go hunting for bodies of dead flies,
This place was not a welcoming place,
No, but an evil, sinister place.

    Haunting

Banshees scream for their lives to be given back to them,
They throw coins on the ground to pay for their sins.
The ghosts instead kill whoever is brave enough to enter,
But whoever goes in never goes out,
For their lives are taken away.

    Watch

Watch out of the ghosts of the haunted mansion,
For in the ghostly night breeze,
They could take your life to,
So be careful of what you wish for,
Or your life could be next.

  15. Bolu says:

Hi, my name is Austin and I am about to tell you a story about what happened to me when I pulled a very dangerous prank.

One morning, I woke up very early because it was a very important day for me. It was pranking day. Every year, on the 16th of May , I would do as many pranks as possible making sure that every year, my pranks were getting better. I chose the 16th of May because I knew that on that day, it was my teacher Mrs Mathew’s wedding anniversary.

When I got to school, I went into my classroom, got three bottles of super glue and squeezed it onto my teacher’s chair. When school started, my teacher sat on her chair and called out the register. When she wanted to get up to write something on the black board, she could not get up. She started screaming for help and everyone started laughing. Two hours later, the chair was removed however, she had to go home to get changed.

When school was finished, I placed a little box on her desk. When she opened it, 100 bees flew out! She got stung 56 times and had to be sent to the hospital! When my mum found out, she was furious. She made me pack my bags because she was about to send me to a place where all naughty children went……The Haunted House!

When we arrived at the house it was pitch black. I was terrified. I begged my mum to let me stay at home but she did not let me. She told me that I had to learn my lesson. The house was cloaked in mist. You could hear strange screaming noises coming from it. My mum then told me that I was going to stay there for one month! How was I supposed to survive?

When I entered the haunted house, I looked for a torch because it was completely pitch black. As I climbed the stairs filled with cobwebs, I came face to face with an ogre! The ogre had a big stick in his hand and started whacking me with it .He was hitting me so hard that I had bruises all over my body. How was I supposed to survive in the haunted house for one month when I could not survive for ten minutes?…..

  16. As I walked along the path the sky turned grey. When I approched the door a light started to flciker on the second level. The door swung open it was pitch black. I yelled “Is anyone home !” The door slammed shut behind me. In the house I could hear creecking steeps. “Hello!” I shouted, “Is anyone home ?” Then a light turned on, the wall were covered in skulls and bones. Chains were rattling in the breeze. Taking another step forwards. It looked safe so I crept into the kitchen. It was covered in cobwebs. There were pictures of couldrens and a picture of a black cat. The door leading back to the exit slammed shut. I rushed towards the door and started bashing my fist agaist it. It wouldn’t open. Then a spoon beside a windown caught my eye. I threw the spoon at the window and it shattered into ting shards. I jumped out and ran back home. Since that day I had never gone that way again.

  17. There is a house that strikes fear. It is on the very tip top of the bleak hills, but no-one lives there. The windows rattle, the doors creak and the stairs are crumbling.
The moonlight behind the house casts haunting shadows. Mysterious figures can be seen lurking around the balcony. The house in darkness apart from one solitary bedroom light; which shines a beam into the dark misty woods.
Behind the dark dilapidated door the frozen stone statues of wild animals lay crumbling away. Ancient dusty portraits hang. Staring at you with beady eyes that follow you everywhere. Satin furniture stands draped with ghostly dust sheets.
It is said that it is haunted with a family of relatives to President Kennedy.

  18. Spook House

There is a scary house on Dountain Lane, with a curse, that has been there for 50 years. The house is spooky and dark and every night there is a mysterious fog that flows around the house. People say the fog is poisonous and no one goes in there any more.

The house has boarded up windows, which are rattling as we speak. At the end there is a circular tower as tall as Big Ben and has worn out bricks. The main part of the house is a big block with windows and a door. There is a balcony on the ground floor.

The house has a chimney which every night goes “poof!” and fills the sky with fog,
    polluting the whole city.

  19. Isobel Allan says:

Have you heard about the crooked house? Well, I have! There are so many ways to describe it; here are a few.

It is a gruesome grey with tiles slipping and missing from the roof. Nevertheless it’s creepy and crooked. While black clouds are collecting as a group overhead, it is shadowy, the smell is atrocious and you can hear faint footsteps upstairs. There’s a knocking at the door, then it opens with a loud “creek!”

It’s damp, dusty and mouldy. The walls are cracked with spooky spiders and rats as big as baby bears scurrying through the house and taking what they want. I don’t have to tell you it’s a scary place to visit, so come and see if you dare! You may never see the light of day again!

  20. The Missing Boy

“Trick or treat,”said Sam and Jim in unison.
“Happy Halloween boys,” said Mrs Butcher, who is their teacher,
    “Hello Miss-” Jim said.
    “It’s Mrs,” interrupted Mrs Butcher.
    “Ok hello-“Jim tried again.
“Alright here’s the sweets just go,” Mrs Butcher once again interrupted
So Jim and Sam walked onwards until they came to a spooky house that was so scary the night watchers always would always have their swords out as the went near it well they weren’t swords they were cheap wooden sticks with silver paint on them. Jim walked in but sam went home as it was the last house so he got all the sweets he wanted and was scared. Knock! knock! the door opened Jim was shivering with worry and coldness.
    ” ‘elp!”
and that was the last of Jim. People still believe Jim’s ghost is in that very house.

    The End

  21. Oscar says:

Our car shuddered to a stop after hitting a rough, drum grey rock, when coming home from a day out with mum and dad. I gradually got tired, so leaned on the dash board as to go to sleep, it happened instantly.

Five minutes later I opened my eyes only to find treacherous weather outside. An electrical storm had struck. It was like hell had risen from below. The wind was visible, crisp orange leaves were flying around, lamp posts had violently fallen and split down the exact centre. The air had turned black.

My mum tried to call for help, but her mobile was dead. “Look over there, there’s a house,” I exclaimed. In the distance I saw a dim light, half blocked by the moons silver light.

Enthusiastically my dad raced to the house in search of help whilst mum and I followed. On closer inspection he found that it wasn’t just an ordinary house. The black tiled roof was slanted and falling off, the house itself was blacker than death. One black plank of wood fell off the decaying wooden house.

We cautiously approached the crooked black door, I stood back and looked up at the house. It seemed to be grinning down at me with evil intent. As mum and dad stepped in I screamed at them to stop, but it was too late.

  22. The Haunted House!

Tension grew inside of me, because I knew I was doing something wrong! There stood, in front of me the once pretty, but now delipadated and deserted mansion. A shiver ran up my spine making me shudder. Without thinking, I opened the door and dust showered down from the ceiling. Everything about the house smelt of oldness and looked that way too. Cobwebs hung from the stairs like bats, fast asleep, but still listening to evey word that was spoken. I took one step and the floorboard creaked loudly. Suddenly, the worn out door slammed shut on it’s own, as if on purpose. “Hello!” My voice echoed around the house and more dust landed on my head.

I searched high and low for anything that might give me a clue as to who had lived here, but nothing was to be found. It was hard to see anything through the pitch black, with only a useless torch to guide me. It was like someone was hiding anything to show who had been here, not wanting anyone to discover or question.

It was very late, so maybe no one was awake (if, indeed anyone lived within.) The birds would soon be up, however, no sign of wildlife grew or lived near this place, because all creatures, big and small feared it. People spread rumours about how this place had ghosts that warn childen away, but I never listened, or believed them.

The wolves howled, because of the full moon, as the darkness of night swallowed me up. There was a creepy crash from upstairs, then I saw a thin, bony hand point at me that sent me rushing to the door. It spoke firmly “ Stay away you fearful monster!”

“Don’t touch me,” I squeaked in a high pitched voice, “or I’ll scream!” The windows swung their arms outwards letting in a gust of chilly air. I fled, tugging the door open and ran back to my house.

Maybe the people were right, maybe someone still lives there, haunting it, just like they said. I shook my head to get rid of the thought, but I had to find out who that person was, before it was too late. I vowed to go back the following night…

  23. Joel says:

It was a chilly Sunday morning and a group of friends were strolling along the cracked path of their estate. When suddenly they came across a dark, misty alleyway.
“What, I swear that was not there the day before!” one of the friends called.
    “Wanna go through?” asked another.
    “You bet!” the group replied.
Together they trudged cautiously through the strange path. Then without warning two ghouls whisked them up into the foggy air. It all happened very quickly, so quickly that the friends did not notice that they were taken up and placed on an ancient crumbling roof of an abandoned house.
If it wasn’t for the coal black tower they would have walked off the roof and plummeted to their death.
“Ouufff,” was their reaction when they tumbled on the tower.
    “No way”
    “Impossible”
    “How did we…….”
All of them were traumatized and could not move. Until the ancient roof gave way and they landed in the deserted bedroom of the house.
Only then, they found their voices.
“So let me get this straight,” one started, everyone else listened intently.”We have just some how been transported to this haunted house, and now we are possibly trapped.”
    Others shivered at that thought.
    “We need to get out.”

  24. Amaan says:

Standing on the corner of Canterville avenue [number thirteen] , the eerie dwelling was silent. Its castle like features give you a shiver down your spine. The conical turrets pierced the night sky .The grubby grey tiles undusted and untidy . If you went down this street , it would always be dark and sinister.

The house was known for its nasty obstacles inside .It had been said that fifty-two people had died there .Every time that someone had sauntered past this house , they have had a four-leaved clover in their hand .I should have mentioned this before but the villagers of Perk were very superstitious indeed.

But one day a flicker of light burst into the topmost room. The light in the window turned on and there stood a feeble and weak girl with red eyes .Had it come from the past to haunt the village ?

  25. Tomi says:

    THE SINISTER HOUSE

Haunted houses are the worst place you could ever be, with all the shrieks, screaming and scaring going on its certainly not the place everyone wants to be.
Those who have experienced one say, that once you come back out you are never the same spiritually, physical, mentally…that’s if you do even make it back out. This is the story of how Tom discovered why people say this one Halloween night…

One spooky Halloweens night, Tom went to go trick-a-treating with his friends. First, they pulled loads of pranks on their teachers and on their neighbours – eggs were thrown and doors rudely banged on for no reason whatsoever. Next, it was Tom who was dared to knock on a sinister looking house that people walked in but never managed to reappear from its gloomy grasp.

“But what about the people who walked in?” questioned Tom. “I don’t want to end up like them!”

“It just goes to show that you’re just a pathetic loser,” retorted his unkind and despicable so called friends.

Tom hated all the nasty ammunition his friends were firing his way; he could not let himself be labeled in such a way, so he stuck to the unappealing task he was given.

Silently, he crept towards the creaky door. He was just about to knock when just it miraculously opened by itself. Tom couldn’t resist the urge to step inside. Suddenly, the door closed and rusty worn out padlocks locked in a split second. Tom froze; fear drove up and down the back of his spine. Footsteps echoed and came closer and closer until IT went right through him. He thundered up the stairs in panic looking back over his shoulders as he passed each step. A mysterious room greeted him at the entrance to the top floor, but why was the door wide open?

From out of nowhere, the doors slammed shut. Tom had no idea what had exactly happened, for the lack of light and fresh air inside made it difficult for him to familiarize himself with his bizarre surroundings. It could not be??? Tom found himself lying in a coffin in a graveyard and was rapidly running out of air. Tom guessed that there would only be about a minute of air left.

“HELP!” Tom bawled as loud as he could. It was no use. He was just wasting his breath and no one could hear him. Five… four… three…two… one… and Tom was lying in his coffin lifeless. His friends were still at the haunted houses gate, still waiting…

“It’s dark, that’s what it is” said Kenny. Oh my gosh, he was right.

My story starts on a wild, stormy evening halfway through October. Everyone was starting to prepare, put up decorations and buy sweets for the well known day of the devil. However, everyone was really hiding their dread. Every year a boy or girl gets picked to play the ruin game.

    This year it was me.

The night suddenly came round and I was absolutely mortified, hungry and too be perfectly honest………I was terrified. A couple of minutes before I was due to go into the ruin (which was a terrifying old mansion) Kenny Parsons came up to me and said “It’s dark, that’s what it is. Kenny went into the ruin last year and he came out looking out as white as snow and is to this day that there I a ghost in there.

I was about to find out.

When I entered the dark, dank and desolate ruin goose bumps erupted up my arms and neck d of dark and my heart seemed to jump up into my throat. Kenny wasn’t kidding, it was dark but not the kind of dark that you get when you turn off your bedroom light. Oh no. It is more deep, more dense.

I made it out of the ruin in the end but the person who went in the year after that wasn’t so lucky.

No one ever saw my brother again…

    Haunted House

One dark, moonlit night in California, a deserted mansion was shut out from the rest of the world by its huge gates which surround the mansion. Nobody had ever entered the mansion for a long time and many were curious about what was inside and there were rumours that an old witch lives in there.

Today I was going to see what was in there. It was full moon and the doors and windows were glowing mysteriously green as I lurked my head around the gate and I heard a faint witch cackle. I was rooted to the spot in horror. There was a witch in the mansion. I peeped through the window and the witch had an ugly green face covered in thick, black warts.

I panicked and leaned against the wall, what could I do? In fact I was so frightened my hair was sticking up like I’d been struck by lightning. But what I didn’t know was that the witch could see my hair through the window and was creeping up to the door.

She was just about to grab me when she tripped on her own trip wire which sent the house collapsing onto her. The witch murmured something to me but I before she passed out but couldn’t hear what she said as I ran away as quickly as I could. I woke up the next morning exhausted to the bones with huge donkey ears sprouting from my head. Uh oh…

The car came to an abrupt stop near a rickety house with black, slaiding walls and screeching gate. Maria’s heart skipped a beat. Surely he dad had got the wrong adress? But No, with scribbly, off-hand writing the board clearly stated “Hartington Grove, UR D3AD. Maria Shuddered. Surely there was something wrong?
The door slammed like a dungeon behind them. Maria and her Mum exchanged worried glances but Maria’s Dad serenly reassured, “Just a draught, I’ve heard there are lots in this house.” Maria stumbled up the stairs. The walls seemed to close in around her. Echoing voices roamed in her puzzled head. “Maria…. Come and find us, we’re here”. Maria shook her head, it was just her imagination.
Her room seemed like an old cellar. She had heard that the removal men had to violently kick down the door and found her room covered with a thick layer of dust. Suddenly, a loud bang erupted from behind her. She spun around in an instant to see that someone had written a message on the condensed window. “I HAUNT YOU!” seemed to rumble around her. The vase came crashing down leaving fragments on the ground. Then with a tremendous Pow! The electricity went off and Maria was surrounded by eternal darkness.

  32. Raiyaan says:

One gloomy evening, the mice and rats scurried along the fog-covered path, whilst wild predators hunted for their prey. Thunder struck harshly as the sky rapidly grew darker and darker. Distant howls shattered the deafening silence. The last remains of daylight had now vanished and nothing was to be seen, apart from the soft glow of lamplight from a few of the houses. Suddenly, one by one, every single house lost its light, as if their bulbs had fused. Howeve, since it was so late, this was rather unsurprising. I thought I would go for a stroll through the deep woods. As I did so, I made sure that no one saw me.
I made my way, rather stealthily, through the dark woods, alert and observant of anything peculiar. A tingle shot up my spine, causing the hairs on the back of my neck, to stand on end. Something was wrong. I could feel it, I was right. A patch of light had weirdly appeared in the distance. I scampered towards the light, as if I was a moth, when suddenly i saw standing before me, what appeared to be a haunted house. Magically, a ghostly figure loomed out of the misty shadows. It was him…..the Hooded Wizard……REEPACHEEP!!!

The Legend of Mantes de la Villas
In Greenland, in a sunny town, a group of British, curious tourists decided to explore a haunted house. The leader of the group was an old, stern man named Mr.Parker.There was also a family along with him , they were the Jones. The Jones were a family of four and they knew that the only person along with them was going to be Mr.Parker, and so they invited their friends, who invited their friends. Now altogether there were twelve people!” Now, if anything happens we’ll stick together, if we don’t stick together, something might happen to one of us.Keep close watch!” Mr.Parker warned them.Cautiously, they ventured forward and through the doors, suddenly the doors closed shut, Michael Jones rushed to the door and tried to pull it, he also tried to push it, but it wouldn’t budge.” It’s not moving!”he cried and burst into tears”We’re doomed, we’re trapped, we’re never going to get out and complete our ‘mission’, we’re never going to get out!” He cried in despair, Gemma Jones, his sister, pitied on him and went over to comfort him, when at that same moment, in a puff of smoke, a translucent figure appeared, ” I’m Myrtle, welcome to Mantes de la Villas, your ‘home’, I’m your willing servant, what would you like” the annoying ghost asked , suddenly there was an icy blast, and a man appeared out of the blue, it was Michael Jackson! He whistled and some ‘creatures’ appeared they were breathtakingly ugly. They floated towards him and patiently formed a circle and hovered. Are you scared?” Michael enquired, they all nodded except for Mr.Parker,” Good,” he said cheerfully, then he glared at Mr.Parker.” You’re not, well, prepare to be scared NOW!” He shouted, he then pulled a funny face, ” Is this funny?” he enquired pulling a funny face, everyone giggled except Mr.Parker, who glared.” Who are you, freaky boy.”Michael ignored and repeated, again everyone laughed, but the stern, old man.Michael was not giving up, he asked the same question, but this time pulled a bloodcurdling face, everyone was horrified and tried to take a step back, but they couldn’t, they were stuck!Michael stamped his foot three times and started dancing while singing, all the ‘ghombetons’ (1/3 of a ghost+1/3 of a zombie+1/3 of a skeleton)joined in so did everyone, but the pack leader, ‘stop’ he cried “What?”asked Michael, “GO AWAY!” the leader shouted.”You want me to go?” Michael asked, everyone shook their heads, the leader disagreed:”Yes I want you to go” he said.”O.K!”was the reply, Michael lay down and banged his head hard on the concrete floor, all that was left of him now was dust, which was carried away by the wind, suddenly, some mysterious force caused the old man to fly high in the sky never to be seen again! The others all sniffed and started crying, they were miserable, they were trapped in a haunted house, their leader was gone and so was their entertaining host, what were they to do?!Suddenly, someone tapped Gemma on the back.It was Michael.” Gee it’s you! You’re back!” Gemma cried in delight, they all celebrated and that was the end, no-one found Mr.Parker, they didn’t care either,he was a nasty man!
    THE END!!!!

  34. One horrific night, in a petrifying mansion, there was a very bad man who was making a potion to rule humanity! Suddenly a struck of lightning electricuted him and his soul possessed the house for eternity.

Century’s later two lonely orphens, named Ahmed and Ridhwan, came upon the house and thought that no one lived there so they made themselves at home. At night it was getting foggy and Ahmed went to bed . Ridhwan stayed up because he could not get any sleep then he heard noises that were as strange and spooky as knowing the house was truly haunted.

There were more strange noises and Ahmed woke up running then bumped into something.

    “AAARRRGGGHHH!!!”

Ahmed ran into Ridhwan and Ridhwan ran into Ahmed. They were going to get out but magically the door closed. A ghastly laugh came out of nowhere and there out of the walls was a ghost! It flew towards them as the sun rose and it was steaming. The doors opened and as the light shone on the ghost it was gone so Ahmed and Ridhwan lived happily ever after.

  35. Daisy Parker says:

    Dear Diary,

I can’t believe it! Millie has (surprisingly) asked me to go to play round her house. Everyone at school thinks she’s weird because she likes to bring in plastic wands to play with. Her scary satchel is black with evil cats all over it and for lunch she has a pretend cauldron to store her soggy soup in. Regardless of what other people think I think she is special and unique.

For example yesterday morning I clumsily fell over and she helpfully picked me up and rapidly took me to first aid. She miraculously made me feel better by singing the silliest song she could think of. She is kind, funny and always lets you play with her.

Nobody has ever been round her house (except her fabulous family of course). I am a bit worried.

Last night we silently walked back from school. We always walk to school quietly so we decided to walk back from school silently too. We never had anything to talk about (it’s always very awkward).

As I curiously looked into her deep, blue eyes I could tell she was scared.

Suddenly we reach a black, spooky house (I was sure it wasn’t Halloween). Mysterious mist covered my excellent eyes as we slowly made our way to the rustic door. It was Millie’s horrible house! As soon as Millie loudly clicked her long, skinny fingers the door creaked open.

As we cautiously walked down the narrow hallway she awkwardly picked up some kind of green, slimy potion! What was happening?

  36. The haunted house was dark. It’s cracked windows gave the eerie impression that something was watching. The ghostly howls of undead spirits gave way to the silence. Bats flew overhead, chattering of the human newcomers. It smelled musty, they way burnt logs do.

The rotting wooden steps creaked,as evil eyes watched wearily. The blackening grandfather clock struck midnight. High pitched laughs came from every direction. Scratches of claws and the beats of demons wings were audible. Then they emerged.

” Hold on a second young lady ,you are going with your brother ,” my mother interrupted.
    ” Why mum, why? ” I complained.”Fine I’ll go with him.”

A few hours later myself, my little brother and my friends spotted a spooky house.
All my friends said that we should go in, but my little brother said he did not. We all crept into the house anyway. We all heard spooky noises like,” oooooooh,” and ,” boooooooo.” My little brother, Charlie cried and my friend Katie took him outside.

“What a wimp, ” Nick said quietly.”
“I don’t blame him, he’s only six Nick , and this place is spooky and really creepy, ” I replied.
“Boo!” shouted a voice from behind us. Nick started to cry and ran.
    “Charlie ,” I said .
“No one calls me a wimp! ” Charlie protested.
“Sorry,” Nick replied quietly and sadly.

It was Halloween and i went with my friends to a spooky mansion. We entered leaving the door open behind us. Mysteriously, the door closed and an evil laugh echoed around the room. It was a ghost! we all ran up(what seemed to be 1000 steps)the stairs until we reached the highest room in the house. There was no exit. Hopelessly, we just sat on the floor waiting for the ghost to close in…………….

  39. A dark, devilish cloud engulfed the blue serene sky
Evil villainous bats went flying by

The whistling wind went around the house clockwise
This house they found was a colossal surprise

A courageous boy took minute steps towards the house
However, his bashful brother was as petrified as a mouse

The boy approached the door with bravery and might
But when he opened the door, he was shaken with fright

    Their knees wobbled
    Their throats went dry

BANG! The door shut behind them
The little boy started to cry

They could smell danger front, back and to the side
Which filled more terror in their mind

All of a sudden the room went dark, pitch black like charcoal
And it slowly started to get cold like the inside of the devil’s soul

Maleficent laughter was heard… And then screams
    The boys were dead.

I stood motionlessly in front of the spooky house. It was a dark gloomy night. The sky was like a lamp turned off. The horrendous wind brushed my soft hair. My other two friends approached. their mouths dropped.
“WHAT IS THIS!!”, bellowed Jack starting to back away,”I’m out.”
    “Aww,come on it’s halloween.” I moaned.
    “Okay.” jake replied.

All of us walked to the horrid doorstep, knocked the creepy door and started to get ready to run. The door, which was as black s coal, opened automatically. Cub webs hovered in the air. The house was deserted. Jake audaciously walked in. Nothing happened until a dim dark figure pasted frightened jake and grabbed him. Tim, my other friend, and i hugged each other tightly. Suddenly Jake’s poor head rolled down the door stepped. Rapidly, Tim and I sprinted away ,however, the ghost was to quick for us and chopped off Tim’s head and then mine …

One normal Sunday morning two little girls Olivia and Lily, went outside and was shocked what they saw right opposite their house.
“Can you see what i can see?” Olivia asked
“yyyes,” Lily replied with a scared voice
Olive and Lily walked slowly closer and closer up to the haunted house, the two girls went up to the three narrow steps leading them into the scary, wooden, smoky house . Once Olivia and Lily were inside lightning stuck and the hard, wooden door SLAMMED shut!
The two girls started looking around the house and while they were walking around Olivia and Lily could hear the deafening sound of the wooden floors creaking. Lily found a closet and it had a sign and it said ‘I WILL BE BACK!!!’ written in red pen with a drop of human blood and on the back it said ‘IF YOU OPEN THIS CLOSET SOMETHING BAD WILL HAPPEN TO YOU!!’, but Lily didn’t read the back…
So Lily reached out her shivering hand slowly reaching the closet door handle. Finally Lily opened the door, and in a blink of an eye Lily got dragged into the closet by a hand with human … on it.
There was a massive, loud, scared scream, Olivia said to herself “wait a minuet i know that scream, huh LILY.” So then Olivia ran as fast as she could to find Lily, finally Olivia found her because she heard screaming and banging against the door so Olivia opened the closet and Lily fell out DEAD…
“NNNNOOOO!!!! Olivia fell on her knees and sneaking up behind her the was a killer with a sharp, glimmering, clean, pointy knife. The killer leans back with his knife in his hand and stabs Olivia right in the back, and then Olivia fell to the ground. The killer said to himself “well my knife ain’t clean anymore.” So then the killer left the house leaving Olivia and Lily DEAD…

    The Haunted House

It was halloween… My friends and I went out for trick or treating. They exclaimed that if I didn’t go inside the haunted house, I was a coward… Languidly, I stepped up at the doorstep, checked the time, took a deep breath and slowly opened the door. But my eagerness was unbridled, so I yanked the door open and peered inside. The house was filled with veritable gold. I was flabbergasted… The moon was a ghostly galleon floating in the dark night sky. I could see a dark silhouette right behind me… I was goose-skinned. I felt odiom towards my friends because they had tapped the enormous beast that made him furious. The figure was quite lenient, I pledged that I would never come back in his mansion again… I was relieved. I was ruminating whether I was going to go out for halloween again…

  43. Haunted house My little 8 year old brother Logan and I went in a house that is dark and has scary pictures. The house was as scary as a vampire. When I was exploring the house my friend Jake came to the house as well. Later on the house started to shake and wind was coming out from nowhere. Jake was scared and I was scared, but Logan was enjoying it. I was freaked out completely. An 8 year old boy called Dillan appeared right in front of us and said, “I am a ghost I am going to scare you to death,” when he wanted to turn into a griffin he turned into a fairy. Then a boy called Dice is a nice and generous boy who is very much the opposite of his brother Dillan. Only Dice and Dillan live in the haunted house. Dillan made an earthquake then made the house completely dark, smash, Jakes head was rolling on the floor when there was light; I was so scared Goosebumps started to appear on my arm, my brother was scared as well. We went out of the house rapidly and Jakes body and head was following us and it attached together again because of Dice. Dillan was in a pool of blood and skeletons whilst he was watching a baby’s channel. Dice trapped Dillan in the pool of blood and started singing Mary had a little lamb. Me, Logan and Jake arrived safely home, we never went near that haunted house again.

‘’AAHH JOHN I’M SCARED!!!!’’ shouted Jade. There was no reply.

The house seemed to draw me in. It was as if it was calling to me – I couldn’t resist. Slowly,
I walked towards the mansion. I asked myself “What am I doing?” but I did it anyway. It seemed like I was in one of those horror movies where the victim unknowingly steps up for death. I hoped I wasn’t going to die like them, my head lolling on my shoulders, My insides hanging out, my – I shuddered, trying to clear my head of those thoughts. “Come on, you’re not going to die,” I tried to tell myself, but I couldn’t shake of that feeling. Suddenly the air felt colder. It was as if a cold veil had been draped over me. I tried to turn around, but my legs wouldn’t obey me. The wind grew louder. It seemed to … almost talk. “Muuurder manooor” it hissed.”Youuuu shall obeeeey”.
“No. No I won’t” I mumbled. But I did. The door swung open and I strode in. I walked to the center of the room and stopped. I waited for the mysterious force to take somewhere. But it didn’t. I gingerly took a step forward. My legs were mine again. I stretched them in relief.
“I’m not done with you yet.” whispered the voice. The roof fell in with a crash, missing me by millimetres. The chandelier smashed, and one of the shards flew staight for my face. I ducked, and I saw the jagged tip impaled in the wall, inches from where my head had been. “You’re a feisty guy then,” the voice hissed. ” Oh well, pity that you will die.”
A picture fell off the wall and I dodged, running up the stairs. they crumbled away behind. I jumped into the bathroom, and then stopped in shock. Written on the misty mirror, was the words “Get out of this house or die!”
“This place gets weirder by the minute.” I thought
Suddenly the floorboard cracked. I ran out of the bathroom,my heart in my mouth. A plank disintegrated, but I didn’t notice. I fell into a room of water The water started rising, and I was pulled under.
“Never challenge the Ghost God, puny boy! Now, begone!”
These were the last words I heard before water filled my lungs and I drifted into oblivion…

“Max it’s to wake up!” cried Tim, disturbing Max’s sleep “why do you always wake me up early?” grumbled Max with pale, sore eyes “You know why!” glared Tim with furious face “It’s because we’re going to that old haunted mansion!” “Oh, yeah that one, did you know that place once had a gold mine?” asked Max “No?” replied Tim with a terrified look “Well then I’ll tell you the story once upon a time there were two kids Jack and Kai, these two boys loved horror movies in fact they even wanted to be in a horror movie so one dark and stormy day they crept into that old haunted mansion and at first they were dancing all over the place but suddenly SLAM! The old battered doors slammed together they stared in horror but that was just the beginning of the scene. Next a old teddy bear walked slowly down the creaky stairs, when it’s soft, fluffy feet touched the ground disaster struck it’s black eyes were no longer that colour it was a dangerous, hateful red colour and from the gold mine appeared a two-headed demon with claw’s as sharp as sword but the worst monster of all was the were wolf it snarled a dangerous snarl, and in its eyes were so red that smoke was coming out of its eyes, then its hideous wolf form turned into a human with a old dusty cloak and a blood stained axe then out of his cloak he pulled out bat then he whispered to it “Wipe them out old friend,” So the bat flew right towards the two boys but the boys were to quick, they whizzed to the door and with all there might they broke the door in half and that is the end of the story,” said Max pulling a scary face at Tim. “Well then let’s get ready to go to the mansion!” shrieked Tim jumping all over the place, so Max put on his ragged clothes and packed his bag ready for an adventure.

By the time they arrived at the mansion the skies were dark and black, when the two boys entered the mansion they turned on their torches and looked around. On the top of the stairs a pair of eyes stared at them the mysterious figure said to them “Welcome to mansion monster!” SLAM the two doors slammed tight together then out of the shadows appeared monsters so scary you wouldn’t sleep for two weeks. The mysterious figure on the stairs reached into his cloak and pulled out a bat he then whispered to it “Wipe them out old friend,” and as quick as lightning the bat zoomed towards the kids and bit them both the boys were going to scream but the bite didn’t hurt them it just made them happy and safe then the figure clicked his fingers and then a shiny disco-ball dropped down from the ceiling and made a party like light and the two-headed monster jumped up into the air and spat out a ton of party food and games, when it landed on the lifeless floor he yelled out loud “Let the party begin!” So you can guess what the boys did, they joined the party!
    THE END

  47. THE HAUNTED MANSION

As I was walking down a long, twisted road I came across a house, with cobwebs, threatening signs and skeletons on it. Slowly, cautiously, bravely I stepped through the curved doors, hoping that I would come out alive.

When I was in the middle of the house I heard a noise… CREEK! I ran up the wonky staircase, panicked for a while, then thought it was my imagination. I hid in the bedroom because I didn’t think anything could smash through the door. When I was sitting on the bed in the bedroom, I heard banging on the door and something saying, “Exit, while you can!” I was then freaking out and trying to find the door. Then I heard a different voice; it was my dads, he was saying, “Get out, quick!”

When I escaped he explained that it is a haunted mansion and anyone who had ever been in there had never come out alive, so I was extremely lucky. I will avoid the house now!

    The Haunted House

Beside my house is a deathly, haunted residence with a bright light inside the absurd abode. Piles of stones and shattered walls lay sighing at the spectacular sky. Crumbling chimneys and hanging gutters fall down to the parched ground every once in a while.
The derelict, ramshackled and rickety abode is a lilac, dusty greyish colour. Only the ragged traces of glass remain in the windows – sharp spears jut out of rotting sills. This dilapidated building is surrounded by innocent people walking quickly on the street. The gutters leak like colanders. It is as if ravenous rats have gnawed through the wooden walls.
One day, I saw a strange and sinister scientist sauntering out of the one-hinged front door. He was emaciated and gaunt-looking, nerdy glasses he was wearing, as thin as a stick (rake), not a tad obese, scrawny and weedy, he looked like a bachelor and a felon, this one is very unusual but he was as fragile as a china doll…it must be…it is, I have solved the mystery, for many years people have been wanting to eagerly know if there was a person in there. Now I can tell them.

NO Olympian had ever set foot in the house. Hades had once stuck a toe in, but that was when he was still exploring the depths of the underworld.

  51. I was going to my Nan’s for the first time in my life. All I knew, was that it was a dilapidated mansion that she lived in, it dated back to 0001 and was haunted. I also happened to know that she was a ghost and my grandpa was a vampire. We arrived. I crept up to the door. CREAK!!! A bustle of terrors came out… There were vampires with blood dripping from their fangs; ogres, ghosts, monsters and what’s more is that I had to visit each week. I screamed. But, as I went there every week, I got more and more used to the terrors.

There was one vampire, though, that was not like the others. He did not seem to like me. He didn’t like me at all, not one little bit. I was not going to stand up for myself, the menace in his blood-red eyes filled the air around him and everyone seemed to avoid him, or at least get as far away as possible.
Strangely though, Gran and Granddad didn’t seem to notice him, Gran wasn’t afraid to kick him out of her house, so he decided that it was better to have a ‘home’ than live on the streets in every way and became good. To make sure of that, she produced a liquid, which the vampire was forced to drink. Soon after, we made friends and were playing ‘hide and seek it’ with all the others.
From then on I have loved visiting and am sad when I can’t, but there are always other things to do, of course.

THE JOURNEY TO THE HAUNTED HOUSE

Pushing the heavy gates open the touch of the iron bars were as cold as ice, seizing up my hand completely.
Even though, I could feel the unevenness of the old cobbled path beneath me, they were smooth in comparison with the dry leaves that I stepped on accidentally. Carrying on up the path all of the trees and grass turned a grey colour as if it lost the will to live.
One lonely, oak tree stood by the house swaying in the wind and as a breeze of wind swept by the tree whispered to its surroundings. In the cloudless sky, the moon shone bright, it was the only source of light in miles.
Owls occasionally fluttered ferociously overly their silhouettes passing by, the trees stopped mummering and a white light twinkled from the dangling chandelier inside the haunted house.

  56. Creaking doors swung open with great force from the wind which was a valiant knight. Incredibly large and dense cobwebs devoured the mansion of despair and rumors of the haunted house petrified people so that they wouldn’t enter.

Rumours say that a denizen stayed there for five nights but on the fifth night he mysteriously was murdered and his spirit lived on to find the murderer and rid of him once and for all. But rumours also say that the ghost didn’t see the murderer so he kills anyone who nears the death-defying mansion.

It was dawn and a silhouette appeared in front of the haunted house. All of a sudden, an evil laugh was heard, like the joker and then…

  57. James Deacon says:

Thick coating of fog surrounded the premises. Odd screams and shouts are heard during the cold winters night. As loud as a hungry lion, evil laughs frighten the poor little children. The door, visible on the patio, was covered in thick webs; nailed to the door was a coating of skin with a vicious looking dog painted on.
Scary, crude balls of paper were used to throw at the neighbours. Amidst all the hectic worries, people find a way to annoy the victim. However, no one yet has found the courage to face him in the haunted house with tinted, smashed windows and the dreaded things not expected to be found in the house.

  58. Estelle B says:

    The haunted house
On a foggy night I was abandoned by my parents in the middle of nowhere. I was only 6 and I was a very small girl. I had a bigger brother which was abandoned too. At the end of the path, there was a creepy pitch black haunted house. When it struck midnight, my brother and I entered the house but we couldn’t see anything. We could feel something dangerous lurking around and my spine shivered with fear. The next night we entered the house again when I saw movement in the corner of my eye. I was very frightened but my brother grabbed my hand and we went up the creaky staircase. Suddenly there was a giant scary shadow with glimmering eyes watching us from the top of the stairs. I screamed with horror as there was a reaper ready to strike. We ran as fast as our shaking legs could go. We were inches away from the door when the ghostly face appeared before us blocking the exit. We turned around to find an escape route. The deeper we went in the happier the reaper was. He cornered us in the back room and we couldn’t run anywhere. The reaper’s whole body shivered with pleasure at the smell of fresh blood. Unexpectedly my brother the hero whispered “I’ll distract him and you run. Don’t come back for me, and stay out of this house forever.” As I ran and escaped through the back door I heard him scream. I shouted his name in despair and felt something shake me. I opened my eyes and I saw my brother lying next me. He was shaking me gently and asked: “Are you alright? You look terrified. Did you get one of your nightmares again?”

Even though it was not very decorated it looked very spooky and on top was a glossy black sky nearly disappearing because of the green fog surrounding it .Kala and me looked at each other terrified at the sight .We were bewildered at whether to go or not . SHOULD WE GO OR NOT ………SHOULD WE WAIT FOR THE NEXT DAY OR NOT …….WHAT WILL HAPPEN ………??????????

The old, derelict and abandoned house with creepy cobwebs in every corner was a death trap. Ravenous, merciless and ferocious Wolves howled at the start of the dawning hunt. Around the house, mist swirled and Jack’s pulse raced. Overcoming his fear, he reluctantly opened the door. Creak! He cautiously entered the building being as stealthy as possible? He dare not make a noise. Squeak! He turned around. He looked. He stopped momentarily. What would happen next?

  62. Ali says:

A cool shudder trickles down your spine. Glancing around nervously, you see somber portraits staring at you from behind layers of dust, seemingly penetrating your very being. Cold, hesitant light streams in through a cracked window, casting eerie shadows on the walls. As you walk forward, you can’t help but feel that someone is following you. Whirling around, you see nothing but the empty hallway and the faces in the portraits staring at you. ‘Turn back’ they seem to say, but you swallow a nervous whimper and continue into the dark bowels of the house…

You enter a dark room in the center of the house. Shadows seem to swirl around your feet, sucking you in. In a burst of panic, you fumble for a light switch. You flip it up and down frantically, but the room remains immersed in darkness. Fear settles in and deep down you know you’re not alone in the dark. Something brushes your back. You turn, but there is nothing. Nothing you can see, that is. Outside you can hear the autumn wind howling, and it almost sounds like laughter to your panicked mind. A low chuckle breaks your thought process, directly in front of you. You’re being drawn in, drowned in slumbering evil, there is no escape.

Terror tears at you. You screamed but your voice doesn’t work like when you’re in a dream and your voice doesn’t work.Suddenly, the shadows clear, and you see a miniature room full of darkness. You edge forward, your legs shaking jelly, and brace yourself for the worst.

  64. Lakshmi Janipireddy says:

There I stood in front of the haunted house…
Something…lurked mysteriously, was it a mouse?
The window hides a bit of light.
The screaming noisy voices of the misty night.

    Creaking footsteps can be heard.
The endless cawing of a black bird.
I am scared, why aren’t they?
Can’t I come back in May?
I knew it will be a horrible day.
Why does everything not go my way?
I think they hear whatever I say.
What if they’re robbers and ask me to pay?

Maybe they might bring me good.
Or maybe they’ll cut me like wood.
Whatever it is i am going to put down my hood.
    Please GOD!
OH!NO! please give me and answer or just nod?
There I stood there in front of the haunted house……

  65. Sophie H-E says:

It was a gloomy, dull, miserable day when me and my friend (Demi) went for a rapid walk in the freaky forest. We came across a creepy, ancient house with jet black, blood sucking bats flying around watching us very carefully! ” Should we go and have a look?” I whispered. ” Yes but I think we should be very quiet just incase there is someone in and they hear us.” Demi replied. So we quietly and slowly opened the squeaky door and tiptoed inside. CREAK…CREAK…CREAK…
We went upstairs and there were three traps we had to get passed. we managed to get passed all of the traps apart from the last one as Demi accidently got her foot trapped in the rope. As soon as she got her foot trapped a gigantic, grey gloved hand came chasing after us. It grabbed us and threw us out of the filthy, rotten, bloody window!!

    HELP!!!!!!!!!!!
We shouted at the top of our voices . But nobody could hear us!!

  66. Oreo girl says:

It was a full moon, although clouds filtered out the glow from above. Trees surrounded a deserted building with a ghostly effect. Bats circled around the house as if they had been there forever. The building gave the appearance as if it hadn’t been lived in for a very long time. The windows had been boarded up and the clock tower was in great need of repair. Beneath a stone, clad parapet laid a damp, dark dungeon with many secrets yet to unfold. What could be lurking inside the house.

  67. Nihal says:

Surrounded by dark, dense trees, I looked up and saw….. An ancient mansion in the distance. Strange whispering voices and the cawing of black ravens circling overhead gave an eerie atmosphere. Hurriedly, I darted as fast as my legs could carry me towards the mansion. The arched door creaked and moaned as I turned the rusty knob. I found myself as petrified as a rabbit being hunted by a hungry fox. Opposite me was a a tunnel-like room. I cautiously entered. In the corner of the room stood a rocking chair, empty and lonely. I was broken and ghostly as it rocked by itself….

  68. Sienna says:

The crowded, cramped city was spread out in front of me with its black veil of smoke.
People abandoned it and all that was left was piles of stones and shattered walls.

A derelict, ruined house stood isolated, blackened by soot and smog.
Some people believed that this very house was haunted and cursed.

Dirt covered the crumbling, rotting streets like a deathly blanket.
This city had been forgotten and lost in darkness.

  69. Sujana Tazmeen says:

My mother and my father dropped me to my Gran’s while they were at work. Before my eyes stood a haunting mansion. As I sluggishly walked in through the door, I noticed that there was a woman, with blood dripping from her heart, my Gran. I ran forward and shook my gran, begging for her to be given mercy, but she wouldn’t wake up. I realised that I had to let the Police know, and tried to find Gran’s phone. I couldn’t find it. Suddenly, something pink with glitter covered over it caught my eye, the phone. I raced towards it and solemnly slammed the numbers down. In a few minutes, the Police were by my side, cautiously helping doctors to place Gran in a mat. Soon, my parents were by my side, appreciating how brave I had been. The one worthy of the crime had been observed, and gran’s mansion had been transformed to a colourful state. I was so lucky to have been so brave and try to make things right.

  70. Ammiel Richards says:

From the outside, the house was tall and thin, made from large dark
grey stones that had a rough feel all of this sandwiched together by
crumbling cement. Climber Plants grew up the house winding around the
drainpipes grabbing for the little sunlight that reached this desolate
place. The windows rattled vigorously from the howling wind, as though
they were about to fall out of the frames which were made from rotting
wood being eaten away by wood worm. A few potted plants lay next to
the door, once there for neat presentation now wilted and brown,
    almost certainly dead.

  71. Diya Jena says:

    Haunted
Gloomy though it was, my keen eyesight spotted the house. My house. Swaying gently in the slight breeze were the leafless trees with grey, stretching arms that hid most of my house. It was a destroyed house, with bits of roof tiles falling off, the stone steps were crumbling into pieces because of the boy from the neighbour’s house kicking it, the windows were smashed by stones, cracks and holes were all around the house, spaces for rats and bats to enter through.

Just then, a large pack of flying bats flew past, their wings beating and flapping being heard from a distance. They were grey, gloomy, glum and small. Silently, I glided to the house through the growing mist, the wind nearly blowing me away. I floated up the steps; there were no need of them any more now that I was one of them. I raised my nearly-transparent hand and passed it through the door. I gave one look at the black sky dotted with stars which was black card with white paint splattered on it, before passing my whole body through the door.

Suddenly, unexpectedly and weirdly, there was a large BOOM as I entered my house. It was as if electricity had passed through me, even though it wasn’t possible as i was a ghost. Looking down, I saw my pink hands. Pink hands? I looked at my black hair. Black? Frantically I grabbed a shard of glass from a bottle and looked at my reflection in it. I wasn’t a ghost anymore! Pink hands, black hair! I was human!

  72. Harley Taylor says:

The derelict, pale white horror house gleamed in the moonlight. Mighty oak skeletons walled off the kingdom. The ghostly streaks coming from inside sent shivers down my tingling spine. Squeals of the darkened bats made sweat caress my silhouette that stood observing in the gloom. As I walked up the path dead arms from the rotting flowerbed tried to grab me.
