Camp green lake a story by Thomas woodcock

The desert wind blew over the dry bear desert this juvenile camp was 420 miles to the nearest town that town was Rusty bucket and each kid at the camp had to dig an oil well 190ft deep 25ft wide (and that was every day 6 days a week)
As the children were marched towards the next assignment (which was to build a motorway bridge) they suddenly saw a big green whirl that attracted their attention, they were told not to look at the hole(or whirl) but they were to focused on this big thing they jumped in…
There steps were their first in this land they were…
    Amazed!
    Astounded!
    And flabbergasted
But unfortunately this story comes to a sticky end
You see they could not step out of line so they were shot…
    RIP kids

It was Monday and Anseena, the hero of our story, was bored. It was the summer holidays and it was raining. She was meant to be outside in the paddleing pool. It was the same every summer holidays. It was forecasted to be sunny and it rained. Hours later, when the rain eased, Anseena truged out into the garden. And,as normal, crawled through the gap in the hedge……and came out into a totally different world to the park with the zip wire. Suddenly a roar shocked her. An emarald green dragon flew down, picked her up and roared in triumph. He took her to his cave and put her in a cage. That very night Anseena stole the keys to her cage, unlocked the door and stole out into the night. Taking with her, a ruby she pinched from the dragon. Finally Anseena crept back through the hedge and back into the garden. “Anseena, your tea is ready.” her mother called. When she arrived, panting, Anseena asked “How long have I been gone?”. “Gone ? You’ve been lying upon your bed for two hours, fast asleep.” said her mother. But you grown ups will never know, you will never understand, why children go to wonderland.

As I crawled creepily through the thick bushes, which sprang out like a pack of hungry wolves, I suddenly came to a dead end and WOW, what a sight! I sat in the muddy patch gazing at the marvelous ship, which was floating in the vivid, angry sea. Smoke raised out of the gigantic chimneys, creating little patterns in the bright clear sky. Laughter filled the atmosphere as little pebbles started tumbling down near the edge of the cliff. A light breeze started to form causing the pale-white sails to sway heavily in the wind while the enormous, powerful turbines powered on through the rough sea. As I had a smartphone, I took professional pictures of the phenomenal ship and after that, I was amazed by how marvellous they looked. Unfortunately, as it was a midsummers day, the permanent beam of the bright sun made me want to conceal behind the dancing shadows behind me. By now, I was getting impatient so I decided to head back home and display all my wonderful images. Although they were disappointed that I had run away, my parents were held back when I showed them my gallery. This was the most beautiful day of my life!

It was a Friday night and I was playing hide and seek with Amy, my sister. Running off to find a hiding place I fell into a hedge. I hit the ground so hard I knocked myself out. When I awoke I crawled through a gap in the hedge and saw a pathway. Quickly I sprinted along the path that was surrounded by huge plants and creatures. All of a sudden I felt myself shrinking. “Help!” I shreiked in my miniscule voice. Just at that moment a huge bee swooped and grabbed me by the shoulders. The bee took me to a world where anything could happen. Then I saw a massive lion attack a bigger elephant. I stayed in this world for hours. But then my mum called “Cameron! Dinner!!” So I waved goodbye to all the animals. “Bye” I said. As I left the hedge and I grew to my normal size. Was that a dream? I thought the next morning. But then as I looked through the window I saw the hedge with an animals face staring out and it winked at me!

I crawled through the gap in the hedge and I saw…an amazing site and it was a place like wonderland. Once I stepped into the bright sunlight I felt a tingle of amazement fly up my spine. After a minute or so I looking at the view before me, I went running rapidly round in circles. Then, I saw a straw cottage. I heard a croaky high pitched loud laughing voice come from inside, I wondered what it was. So I crept to the door. I gazed cautiously through the key hole, I saw a witch mixing a potion. The door wasn’t locked and when I leant on it , it flung open, the witch spun round, I leapt back the witch saw me… !

One glamorous day I found myself on the top of a titanic sized cave battered with leaves like a ship hammering into an ice burg then porting in with a considerable hole struck in the centre of the ship. Enough about the ship let’s talk about the enormous cave. I decided to have a little exploration to scamper around the cave. I perambulated in the phenomenal cave , although it was unsettling because… let’s make this clear, imagine trotting into an unknown area. Would you feel scared? I saw spiders and ants there where loads of bugs and creatures in a cave. I could not believe my eyes I would never have thought that in a dead ,dull, murky, gloomy, terrifying cave there was so much life and plants. I continued my journey as I got deeper the ground started to get clammy I instantly knew that there was water and I also know that water is a key life support. I started to make my way out I inhospitably pushed through the wood , the mud and the plants That is my adventure.

  7. Nicola says:

I saw a gap a in the hedge when I was out walking. When I peered through, it turned into a delightful Christmas, and I saw my Mum, Dad and my twin sister. Funnily enough, my strange sister and I had the same presents for Christmas.  The first thing we opened was some Lego for girls, but as we broke this rather quickly, we opened our next curiously shaped present. We were pleased to see that it was a Christmas cake. My Dad and I made a plan to put the Christmas cake in my sister Ruby’s face, and say “There’s no Christmas cake left.” We knew she would be disappointed, because she always talks about food.

  8. Eshika Koonjul says:

One day as hot the blazing sun shone against my face I told my friend Lily ,”Hey look at that hole in the hedge !” she responded back to me saying that there was no hole. I thought to myself wondering why she couldn’t see that masive hole. The next day i went into the hole by myself. Whe I went in I saw a beautiful funfair. There were many people cheerfully going on rides. It looked like a magical place and I ran to my favourite rides. In a far distance I saw a clump of trees and a tuft of grass. There was candy floss, my favourite! I had to leave because it was getting late. When I left the funfair I looked at my watch. It was the exact same time before I went through the hole and I was boggled. I went to tell Lily but she didn’t believe me. So I went back to show her but when we went back to the hedge there was no hole…

  9. Archie says:

I crawled through the gap in the hedge and I saw a lavish and lush enchanted land full of peculiar pixies, frolicking fairies and gruesome goblins. I strolled through the enchanted land starring at the bizarre brown buzzards and smelling the beautiful bright bluebells. I paused for a brief moment, a ruby red, ripe fruit had caught my eye, I had never seen anything like it! I quietly tiptoed over to the fruit, for I didn’t want a soul to catch me red handed, then, silently, I plucked the plump ball of ripeness from the bush and popped it into my mouth. As I bit down into the berry my mouth started to wobble then a sensational flavour of crème brulee ice cream hit my tongue as it melted in my mouth, all of sudden the ice cold delight was replaced by the most horrific spiciest flavour ever! My mouth was flaming hot! Luckily it changed within a second but something strange had begun to happen to my body – I was beginning to shrink! My body felt weary as I shrunk down to the size of a mouse. As I moved around I realised that everything that I thought of as tiny was now enormous. Scared and lonely I feared I would never see my family again, I started to weep and as I did I woke up in my own familiar bed with my mother and father standing beside me. It was a dreadful dream and I’d never eat strange fruit again!

  10. Aidan says:

One freezing snowy day I was walking my lovely dog Rolie in the park. “Can you hear that boy?” I asked Rolie inquisitively, because I could hear bells ringing and it seemed to be coming from a gigantic green bush on our right hand side. We walked towards the bush, and all of a sudden a reindeer darted into my arms. “Wow a reindeer” I shouted excitedly. “He must have come from that hedge,” I said. I knew this because it had ripped a gaping hole in the hedge. I walked through the dark black hole, and it seemed to take ages, because it was so long but we finally got to the other side. However what I saw next was amazing! There was a Christmas wonderland with party decorations everywhere. With Father Christmas, the Tooth Fairy and the Easter Bunny. Along with Mickey and Minnie Mouse with the rest of the Disney gang and unicorns it couldn’t have got more unbelievable. “There you are Jingle, I’ve been looking everywhere for you!” said Father Christmas rather relived. “Sorry he is only a trainee” Father Christmas apologised. “Wait a second who are you? “ Asked Father Christmas. “Aidan Steers” I replied excitedly. “Well young Aidan would you and your dog care to join us in our yearly Christmas Banquet?” asked Father Christmas. “Yes please” I replied. I took a seat and we started a banquet while Rolie munched some dog food that Pluto had given him. The food was so delicious and seemed that we had been munching away for ever and suddenly it came to an end. How would you and your dog like to come here on the same date every year?” asked Father Christmas. “I’d love to!” I replied. I still do go back every year and I enjoy it no less than I did that day.

Once upon a time, long ago there was a house, it had been known for heart pounding hauntings. One day a boy slyly crept into the overgrown garden of the house. Vines draped down the ancient houses brick filled face. Menicing trees staring at him like a ghost. Rabbi had been put into this situation by some beefy bullies from his house boarding school on the other side of the spooky city. Then, from a corner of his eye Rabbi saw a hole, just the right size for Rabbi to squeeze through. Before this had come to Rabbi’s mind he was quite vexed! Cautiously, Rabbi squeezed through the hole, pin like thorns piercing his cheep jumper. When Rabbi had entered this world, he could see the megestic sky was as blue as the sea and a lush green forest. Instantaniously, a starving gruesome mammil leaped over his head blocking the bight sun. Then a petrifying cry came “Mongolian rat spider.” A man seized his arm, with a grip like a lion, he lead him to a hi-tech house with a red car like a cherry. Inside was amazing, he even had a robot servent who handed them Cherryade courteously. “What year is it, and how can I get home?” “Well it’s the incredible 2000 BC and to get home you have to step into my magical and mystic pool, and wish to go home.” “Thank you”. As Rabbi wished to go home he teleported and he was home, overwhelmed with excitement.

As I crawled through the brambly bush I could fill the prickles stinging my hands and feet. The prickles tingled me sharply with their spikes. I could smell fruit growing on the tree’s around me, I could sence exitment coming towards meat this very moment! As well as this I could taste happiness building up in my body like building blocks on a tower.
In a while I had crawled through the bush and I could hear laughter ahead. I could see an arch close by leading to a field full of grass and flowers. As I stepped forward I had a desicion to make, should I stay or should I go. I soon made my mind and stayed as I could fill something was going to happen!
As I strolled through the gap, A ball came flying past and I could smell sizzling sausages on the BBQ. I knew I should go and see what was happening, so I did. I skipped off. It was a family picnic with games (it looked cool.) I could see balls being threw and rackets being swing all over the place. It was a fun adventure.

  13. Thomas says:

“Goal!” screamed Joe as he scored a superb goal. It was a Sunday morning during a football match. As it was a windy day the trees were blowing around Barleylands. The thick forest of trees were swaying as if in a dance routine. Max just missed and the ball went in the hedge. I crawled through the hedge and I saw a mystical land. I called to see if someone had followed me but all I could hear was drip, drip, drip. I poked my head through to see something and before me was a beautiful city covered in green.

The city was as big as London. Everywhere I looked I couldn’t see a frown on anyone’s face. There was skyscrapers and cottages covered in leaves. I looked behind me but only to find the hedge had vanished which meant I was trapped. I started to panic and then a gentle pixie was next to me. I was startled so I jumped. To be polite I nervously said, “Hello.”

“A great day it is,” replied the pixie. We introduced ourselves and I said that I was stuck. The pixie told me that she knew a portal that could take me homw. Before I knew it I was on a log.

The pixie kept shushing me as she heard evil gangs overhead. We quietly sailed down the long ever winding stream. We reached a drop which sent me flying out of the log-boat. I quickly scrambled back in and we continued our journey. We reached our destination, the portal of excellence, and then I had to answer a riddle to pass.

“What runs but has no legs?” the pixie asked me.

“Water,” I eventually said. It was correct so I passed. I went back to windy Redwing to find out no time had passed! I was stunned but I got on with the game as I was determined to win.

Hi, my name is James, sadly I’m an orphan and I live in an orphanage called Orphanage for Boys. My teacher Miss Spurn , is cruel and horrible. Sometimes I wonder if she can smile or not.

Orphanage for Boys might not sound horrible , but remember never judge a book by its cover, it’s the same principle, don’t judge this place by it’s name.

One night Miss Spurn was teaching us English, I was daydreaming (I usually do this) about running away from this place. It seemed like a good idea at the time, so I decided to try it out.

That night , I packed my bag so I could run away, I waited till everyone was fast asleep ( especially Miss Spurn). I didn’t want anyone to find out I was running away even my best friend Billy.

I ran and ran and ran until I couldn’t run anymore. I stopped for a moment, it was becoming day time, I didn’t want anyone to see me.

So I crawled through the gap in the hedge. I couldn’t believe my eyes! I saw magical fairies dancing and flying around, I saw gingerbread men and I even saw… Santa Claus!

This was a dream wasn’t it?!

I wandered in getting closer and closer, my eyes wide with excitement, but suddenly I heard Miss Spurns croaky voice saying ”Wake up, you lazy boy , it’s 20 minuets past breakfast! ”

Suddenly there was blackness, and I found myself in my bed. There were no fairies, no gingerbread men and no Santa Claus…..
So it was all a dream after all!

    The hedge with another world
I crawled through the gap in the hedge and I saw an amazing candy world and everything before your eyes were edible. The sky smelt of minty air and the clouds were made of the fluffiest, sweetest candyfloss ever known. The flowers tasted of honey dew and the grass was sugary. As I was looking –and tasting- at all the edible things I stumbled upon a candy girl made out of bubblegum.
    “Hello,” she said.
    “Oh, hello” I replied.

After we said hello to each other there was a minute of silence.
    “I…I was just g…going and…” I stammered.
“Oh, please don’t go, we haven’t ever had a human here,” the candy girl begged.
“I thought you were going to tell me of for eating your candy!”I giggled.
“Number one: It is not my candy it is everyone’s,” the bubblegum girl stated “And number two: Don’t you see everyone eating and splashing around in the syrup?”
I saw candy people splashing around in caramel syrup and having a great time.
“Wow, I sure do want to splash around in that creamy pool” I said dreamily.
“Then go ahead,” my candy girl said…

“Take that there if you don’t want to get eaten by my dragon!”The liquorice king snapped.
Liquorice king was the fiercest kings known. He lived over the mountains of the candy heaven. The king wanted to take over candy land from King Sherbet and Queen Mintana but they caught him red handed and sent him over the hills and told him never to come to the kingdom again. For this, he decided to plot revenge on the candy land. He was waiting for that day to come. He thought that day was now.
Liquorice king was very slim and tall with his melted black liquorice cloak trailing behind him. His face was the palest of the pale liquorice. His workers were more plump and round and they had warm faces which had rosy cheeks – they were made of melted red liquorice.
“I said take it over there!” He bellowed louder than the last time.
“B…but sire we need more than one liquor elf for it to be carried o…over there,” the liquor elf stammered.
“Are you arguing with the king Cinnamons?”The king shouted “Go and stand in the smelly cheese pit!”
    “But sire…”the liquor elf pleaded.
“If you do not you will be fed to my dragon,” the liquorice king boomed.
So then the liquor elf had to stand in the cheese pit.
While that was happening, the Liquorice King made an announcement to his elves.
“Liquor elves I have important business to do and when I come back I expect this castle to be spotless!”He boomed.
And with that the liquorice king vanished.
After the liquorice king went to his army ground and said to his army:
“Now the time has come for us to take over candy land and to send the king and queen over the hedge and tell them never to return”
After he announced this there were loud roars from his army.
So the Liquorice king got his army ready to go out and take over the candy land.

Back at candy land they did not know this and while I was taking pictures – with a candy camera – with my bubblegum friend I noticed the ground slightly shaking and there was a loud rumbling sound.
“What’s happening?” I said to my friend.
“I don’t know” my Friend answered back.
Then I saw the Liquorice king and his army appear on top of a hill.
“You failed me once but you won’t fail me again!” he boomed.
Then I found out that His army could not have cream because it will make their body parts fall apart. So then I started hurling parts of cream at the army while the Liquorice king was blabbing on about how he does not want to be defeated.
After that the Liquorice king was so scared. He ran away and never came back.
The king and queen thanked me but when I turned around saw that the hole in the hedge was getting smaller so I hugged my candy friend, said goodbye to the candy people and ran through the hole.
When I was back the sky was plain the grass was muddy, and the trees were hard. I missed my friend and I hoped I could see her again. Maybe one day she could come into my world and see what it is like there?

It was the second day since we moved house. Mum , Jack [ my brother] charlotte [my sister] and dad were all tiered except for me. Charlotte said’ how can you be so hyper maple?’ and Jack well Jack was so exhausted that he didn’t say anything. mmm ok i will tell you ……. the secret was that i didn’t really do anything when we moved- you know picking up furniture and moving it. [ i just acted]
I was so fed up know would play with me that i went to have a walk in the garden. I walked on the smooth path. I heard a plane in the sky i chased it right to the end of the garden. ” OH” i said miserably stomping my foot. Then i saw hole i studied it and was sure that i could fit through the hole. the floor was ice cold and i wished i could of brought my mittens . i stood up and dusted the leaves of me then i saw a pot of gold but then couldn’t
believe i woke – it was just a dream.

  19. Sandhana says:

One day a mouse was searching for food in the field when he didn’t notice something or someone was creeping up on him. He stopped to have a rest by a lake but suddenly CRASH something pounded on him. Just then the mouse looked at his predator. “OH Phew hello there my dear old friend”.It was his friend the lion. Liga was ready to chew on him for his snack before heading home for dinner. ” Oh man why couldn’t you be someone else Im starving’ ‘starve !!starve!!i haven’t eaten since last month but you….’ ‘liar liar pants on fire. Just then then mouse started hopping around like a maniac . ‘ its getting dark now i must go home’ said liga. ‘meet you tomorrow same time same place.’ the next day when the lion came but the mouse didn’t , so liga went looking for him. He saw him lying near the bank he didn’t move than liga realised starvation ‘ he was right’ liga said sadly.

  20. One Friday afternoon, as I was walking back from school, there was a strong sent of candyfloss.
Where did it come from? Who was eating it? Where did they buy it?
It seemed to be coming from the hole in the bush that led to the park. I couldn’t resist not peeking, so I peeped through the hole, and guess what I saw !…
    THE CIRCUS !!!!!!!!!
I dashed home and pleaded my mum to go to the circus but she said that we couldn’t because we were going to my gran in Wales. My spirits droped completely.
Suddenly the phone rang and I heard my mum saying that we would go next week.
I was relieved. So that we could go to the circus, I listened to my mum and did what she said immediately. Guess what the result was! WE COULD GO TO THE CIRCUS !!!

  21. Siya says:

On a sunny day, I decided to visit the menacing forest, which was located close to my home behind the hedge. As I crawled through the gap in the hedge I saw a universe full of huge and tall animals, which were small, and small animals were gigantic (this is opposite to our world.) I thought it was really weird, so I crawled back and quickly ran home and described to my mum every single thing I had seen. But she did not believe me. I will never forget the weirdest things I saw there, and I will return again some day and live my life there until I die- if I can survive there. I will never forget this exciting experience.

  22. rosie says:

Unfortunately, at school I am not the most popular or brave enough to stand up to bullies so, as a result of this, I spend most of my free time looking for places to hide in case of an emergency. One sound I do not like to hear is the nee-nor of an ambulance or the ring ring of the fire bell. This may sound bad but if I wasn’t hiding that day I would never had found it all…
It was the 4th of June, 2013 and all down the street it was quiet. I had just got out of school because the mean teacher had given me an after school detention. As I turned the corner I was badly bombarded by boys from my high school. I ran as fast as my legs could carry me down the dirty street and round the corner I went. Luckily, I spotted a gap in the leafy bush and dived through it into an amazing world. The grass was ruby red and the sky a vicious shade of violet. Everywhere were wonderful wildlife, ranging from flying, emerald dragons to prancing, dancing unicorns. I turn back and, surprisingly, the hedge was as tall as a giraffe and as went on for miles and miles. The gap was still there, though now as big as a door.’ Do I want to go back? To live a life as a nobody, worrying about everything?’ No, I don’t. I might as well stay here as long as I live. Nobody will miss me…
So that is what I did. I spent the rest of my life in a magical land, away from worries and danger. I mean, wouldn’t you?

  23. Ben Stanhope says:

I was playing in my garden, suddenly the hedge rustled violently and then again. I slowly peeked through the green spiky leaves and saw the most peculiar things. There was a cow riding a fish, a walking red cabbage, a coaco bean car and a family of 10 elves that live in a oak tree.then I thought for a moment did I really see that, I looked back and it had all dissapeard.

When going to bed that evening I looked out my window and guess what I saw?…

I was just playing nicely in my massive green garden as i saw violent rustling in the hegde at the end of the garden. There is a strange hole in the hedge at the bottom of my huge garden i thought to myself. I slowly walked over hesitantly and looked through this awkward hedge and looked through. As i looked through the strange looking hedge and i saw a black camel riding a tiny white mouse, a snake playing catch with a frog and voldemort in a pink fluffy dress! I looked away astonished then looked back…..There was nothing through the hedge! Was I going mad? I was amazed at what I just saw but still interested about if what I thought just happened was really real! By Leila T

  26. Aadya Rao says:

    My midnight garden

The clock struck twelve times. I just couldn’t get to sleep. I slid off the bed and went to look out at the long, winding street. Something in my garden was wrong? There was a gap in the hedge! I had to go see.

I crept down the stairs, over the creaky floorboard and slipped my shoes on. I ran outside, it was freezing but I was too excited to think about that.

When I got to the unusual hedge , I peered through the gap and I saw things I had never, ever, ever seen before.

First there was a talking, multi-coloured parrot, an elephant that was giving a rabbit dressed in a superman costume, a shower. The weirdest thing of all was a giant, spotty hamster on a giant, spotty wheel.

I slipped through the hole and I just kept watching the crazy animals. I must have been watching for hours because at that precise moment I heard the backdoor of my neighbours garden open. I was too scared to run. My heart started pounding fast. What do I do? What do I say? My next door neighbour came over to me and said I was a thief!

After that my neighbour told my dad what had happened. I was in big trouble. I was grounded from watching television and on the Ipad for a week!

That night, at midnight, I went to see if all those feral animals were real. When I got outside I looked through the gap once more, however I saw a plain garden with swings and chairs but no parrot, no elephant, no rabbit and no giant, spotty hamster on a giant, spotty wheel.

It was only a figment of my imagination. Or was it?

    The End

  27. Cooper Lynn says:

“Can I play with the dog in the garden, Mum?” asked Sam
    “Of course!” said Mum
    “Thanks!” said Sam
“Come boy!” shouted Sam. When Sam went outside he saw a gap in the hedge,

When Sam crawled in the gap in the hedge he didn’t see the neighbors garden, he saw a purple portal. He crawled through the gap in the hedge. SNAP! CRACK! Went the twigs in the hedge. When he got to the portal he went in it. As quick as lightning he was there. He was in his dreams. As soon he went outside of the little room he got trod on! Then he was in his bed. It was a dream. He was really tired so he went back to bed.
    The End.

  28. Caitlin O says:

    The hole in the hedge

It was a sunny day when the circus was on. I could tell by the sounds of the loud trumpets. I always liked the circus, it always made my fluffy fur stick up with excitement. My mum, Mrs Fox, always told me not to go out alone but of course I went.

I crept out of the burrow and attempted to climb a tree. I couldn’t do it. Just then I realized there was a hole in a hedge that had an awesome view. I ran over to it just when the spectacular circus began. I noticed someone playing an organ, now he clearly wasn’t a misodoctakleidist. Gymnasts came past and wowed the entire crowd. They were amazing. The enormous elephants came charging in like an army. I became very sleepy watching the super circus so I jumped down from the fantastic view and made my way back in the burrow. My mum was furious and sent me to my room.

I was sad but it was worth it!

  29. The gap in the hedge
One day I was playing football with my friends in my garden then suddenly I kicked the ball through a gap in the hedge. I decided to crawl through and I saw a magical majestic wonderland. In the gap in the hedge there were elephants, a gigantic giraffe, a wild cheetah and many other magical things. I strolled through the land and I saw more adventures, there were more and more things coming into the magical wonderland, I was amazed like I had just won the lottery. I had not seen anything more wonderful than this it was like a chocolate fountain pouring from my mouth. So in the end I went back to share my excitement and show them the magical wonderland.

  30. Peter says:

“Ok son, ready for another story,” said a dad somewhere and sometime “It goes like this,”:
    Destination: Unknown Year: 1967

In the dead of night, where the owls were hooting, where the garden was silent, where the nightmares began.

When suddenly something broke that silence, a young boy around your age was running, screaming wildly out a tent at Belchamps Activity for Scouts. It was the summer so many scouts were out camping, though this one was terrified, like a cat and mouse, of the dark. He ran as fast as his little legs would carry him. He suddenly slipped in the mud and remembered going through a hedge.

He woke up a few minutes later and noticed and no mud on him and that he was in a colourful new world. He looked around the countryside looking for the way he came into the world. Though all he could see was the dazzling beauty of the green grass. He started to run hoping to get somewhere. When as quick as a flash a lion popped up out of nowhere and gobbled the little boy whole.

The next thing he knew was that he was just in his tent and only he had the pillowcase over his head and he had not been in a new world, only dreamt it.
When his dad put him to bed, he took a peek at the hedge and you would never guess what he saw…

My brain was empty. Leaves crinkled loudly beneath the soles of my feet. It was deafening. Deafening silence, as no sound could be heard. Trees towered tenaciously over me as I saw a gap. Light enveloped the dark-void behind me, as my eyes gazed at what was before me….
The blistering sun pierced down on my thread-bare jumper, as the trees danced gracefully in the wind. The birds tweeted their merry tune. Happily. Merrily. Joyfully as if the joy would never stop.
Then, from nowhere I saw an orange and white fox running intrepidly across the field of lush green grass. The whistling winds swayed the bushes and made a juicy, plump red apple fall onto the foxes head as he ran away. The clouds moved effortless with every step I took. I wanted to see where the fox was heading…..

  32. One morning a small fox awoke with the blinding sun streaming through a gap in the hedge. The ginger fox cowered by a leafless tree. The fox was inspired by the glimmering sun therefore was a new day. The fox was determined to climb the tree, for more he could see, the more he could hear. But the ginger fox could not climb the tree. So instead the curious fox poked his fluffy head out of the gap in the hedge. He saw a never-ending view before him. The fluffy fox was dazzled by the mettle monsters that rattled across the road in all directions. The fox was amazed by the crystal clear fountains by some skyscrapers at the other side of the road. The fox could see dusk looming overhead, before the fox even realised, night was falling! The fox had only looked at an unknown street near where he had slept recently and another day was about to pass! The fox soon became tired and soon he was fast asleep………

  33. I enjoy camping with my family. There is always the opportunity to explore new areas. I wondered what discoveries I would make this time. After driving for several hours , we finally arrived at the campsite, exhausted but still very excited. The campsite was brilliant! There were a variety of activities to keep us all busy. I was particularly looking forward to the zip wire. As soon as we had pitched our tent, I was off to look for adventure.

According to the site map the zip wire was located in Zone G, which was down a hill, right at the bouncy castle, left at the pond and there, just behind the hedge was the tower for the zip wire. I felt confident about finding my way. I had made my way just past the pond but the footpath was muddy and slick and was worried that I would fall. I didn’t think that I was much further away, when I saw a gap in the hedge and decided to take a different path, thinking the tower for the zip wire would be on the other side.

I crawled through the gap in the hedge very quickly as it was a bit dark and scary. Leaves and twigs were sticking out everywhere. As I neared the opening, a speck of dust got caught in my eye. I rubbed my eyes vigorously to remove the dirt and stood up. As I opened my eyes, I could not believe what I was seeing.

In front of me was a beautiful beach. The sand was pink like cotton candy; the water was crystal clear and calm, it sparkled with the rays of the sun. There were palm and coconut trees that blew gently in the wind. The most peculiar flowers decorated the trees and shrubs that lined the shore. The flowers were large and each petal was a colour of the rainbow. Shells and marbles were littered all over the beach I used the shells to spell my name and decorated it with the marbles. I collected shells, played in the water and then just sat and looked at the sea.

Did I think that there could be any more surprises ? Just when I thought things could not possibly get better, suddenly in the distance, I could see something, jumping in and out of the water. As it got closer and closer I could see more of them. They were nearing the beach and as they did, I could make out that they were dolphins. I stepped into the water to get a better look and the dolphins swam right up to my legs and near enough so that I could touch them, Wow!

What an amazing experience! I was not even thinking about the zip wire. I was having so much fun, I had not recognized that I’d been gone for a long time and my parents would be worried. I made my way back to the opening in the hedge and turned around to catch another glimpse of this extraordinary place. I crawled back through the hedge and ran all the way to the tent to tell my family about the fabulous adventure that I had.

  34. Emanuel says:

It was a hot summers day. The golden orange was burning brightly in the clear blue sky. I was alone in my back garden with my younger brother playing football as usual. Since our garden was big, we used to play a game called long shots. We had to kick the ball from far away to the other person, however I kicked the ball to hard and I shot it through the hedge making a big hole!

“Hahahaha” laughed my brother ” mum and dad is going to be angry with you!”. I got a little bit nervous after my brother had said that and even more nervous when I realised that the neighbours owned it as well. I walked slowly, upset and anxious, kicking a broken branch and leaves on my way to the ball.

I reached the hedge and went on my knees to see where the ball had landed. I was suprised to see how big the hole I made was, I was able to fit through! I got through but behind the hedge wasn’t the neighbours garden, it was a garden I had never seen before! I got through quickly to see where I was and stood up dumbfound and flabbergast. I fell to the ground but I could remember how much the house was since it had just been bought and the price tag was attached to the roof ( with was very peculiar ). £144 billion was the amount that was printed on the price tag…

  35. One Friday afternoon, as I a cloak of rich red, orange and yellow was being hauled across the sky, and as I was walking back from school, there was a sweet, strong, scent of sweet strawberry and plain candy floss. YUM YUM YUM !!! The scent was getting stronger by the second.
I stopped in my tracks, looked left, looked right, ducked down low and crawled through the gap in the hedge which led to the park (this was where the sweet, strong scent was coming from).
Suddenly I got stuck! Thorns pocked their razor sharp blades in me.I wriggled and jiggled and wriggled and jiggled and after a while I got myself free. I wriggled a bit further.
You would never guess what I saw!!!…
    THE CIRCUS !!!!!!!!!!!!
I cannot BEGIN to explain how ecstatic I felt. Circus was and still is my life.
I sprinted back home to tell my mum.
“Mum, can we go to the circus? Please? Please please please please please?”
    “No.”
    “Why?”
    “Because we’re going to granny’s.”
My spirits dropped, but raised at the same time. I loved going to the circus, but I loved going to Granny’s in Wales. We rarely went to the circus, but we rarely went to Granny’s.
The phone rang and after a few minutes I heard : ” Oh!? Well we’ll come in a fortnight then.”
A shiver of fear crept up my spine. Was Granny hurt? Had she broken a bone? I hated thinking of what might have happened to her.
Then I heard that there were road works on the Severn Bridge. Few! Granny wasn’t hurt. I was relieved.
So that we could go to the circus, I listened to my mum and did what she said immediately. Guess what the reply was!
WE COULD GO TO THE CIRCUS !!!
    THE END

  37. Daisy Parker says:

It was a sunny, summers morning and we decided to go to the nearby woods. We climbed into our ruby red car and started to drive off quickly. Upon arrival at the windy woods we started to explore. Dad and I found a gargantuan bush. It had an immense hole right in the middle of it.

As I carefully, crawled through the brambly, bush, I could feel the thorns prickling my tiny hands and feet. They prickled me so sharply, that I had millions of painful scrapes and sores.

I could smell mouth watering fruit growing slowly on the tall trees around me. As I looked up I could see vibrant red apples waiting to be picked. I leaped up to grab one and started eating it greedily as a result of my hungriness. I could taste excitement building up inside me like building blocks on the tower I had made earlier.

A while after I had carefully crawled through the immense hole feeling scared but excited, I could hear loud laughter. We could see a beautiful arch full of Blue Tits close by. It was leading to the entrance of a gigantic field full of green grass and fantastic flowers. I thought I should stay, my dad looked more curious than me. Plus I had the tingly feeling I get when something exciting was going on. I strolled quietly through the gap in the arch trying not to be seen.

From out of know where a bouncy, blue, ball came vastly flying past. I could smell spicy, sizzling sausages on the BBQ. After smelling them my mouth started watering and all I wanted was to eat one. I was now intrigued to see what was happening, and skipped off to the field. It was a posh party with fun and games. There were lace table clothes as big as wedding dresses layer on the surface of the exquisite tables. It looked awesome. There were big balls being thrown really far and rackets being quickly swung. All I could hear was laughter. I wanted to explore more but there was no time.

  38. IFE says:

As I crawled in the hedge I saw the tree shaking like a person shivering in the cold it was breezing ad loud. I had to come out. The light was as beautiful as my mum (well my mum is more beautiful). I was in the hedge, a shabby, dark and dull place. It became quite injurious, I could feel the sticks prickling at my bones, the branches started to shake and twitch unexpectedly. The thing that made me come out was the food barbeque chicken my favourite food! But when I went out of the hedge nobody was outside there was no food and the doors were shut. I was alone in the dark while the lightening thundered. I was quite skittish to come out of the hedge.

  39. Bobs says:

It was a scorching hot summer’s day. Steven was playing cricket outside in his back garden with his dad when, suddenly, Steven heard a tiny whisper from the park behind him. Curiously crawling through the hedge, Steven wanted to know what it was! When Steven got over to the other side he noticed there was nothing there but gnomes! So Steven went back to his back garden, when suddenly, he heard the noise again! So this time he went back over but this time much quieter! He could see what happened! It was a war of gnomes…

Everywhere he looked there were gnomes there were fat gnomes, thin gnomes, tall gnomes and last but not least small gnomes. There were some gnomes with red hats with yellow stripes and ones with blue hats!

  40. JoshuaO says:

I was bored. ” nothing to do -nothing to do” I sighed. Suddenly a spooted a small gap in the middle of a bramble bush. I crawled through and before I knew it I had made it out the other side. I was bleeding because a thorn had brushed against my face. I looked up and I glanced at a path leading to a mysterious mist . I pushed through leaves, jumped over logs and side-stepped through hedges at last I made it a mammoth garden. There was everything there that a boy (like myself) would ever want.

  41. On one lovely day there was a cave. In that cave there was an orphan, who’s parents had passed away. The orphan was a boy and his parents always had said to him to not go deep into the back of the cave. The boy always got frightened at night and wondered what was at the back of the cave.

On one miserable morning, a bunch of kids were playing outside the cave and the boy felt in despair as he always wanted friends. When it got late the boys were going back to their homes but one of the boys slipped into the cave. The orphan came up to the boy.
    “ Hello,” whispered the orphan.
“Who are you, where are you?”questioned the boy, struggling to get up.
The orphan helped him up and they greeted themselves. The orphan asked if the boy wanted to look around and so he did. Without warning, the boy was gone so the orphan looked for him. With only one place to look, the back of the cave, the orphan searched. Then the boys voice was heard but he was shouting something.
    “WOLF!” Screamed the boy.
Then the two of them ran away from the hideous wolf. They reached the front of the cave with nowhere to run. Suddenly, the roof of the cave fell apart crushing the wolf so the orphan and the boy escaped through the top.

The boy thanked the orphan for saving him but where was the orphan going to live. The boy let him stay with his family and they lived happily ever after.

  42. Shrey Biswas says:

Fraeli had always wondered how the hole in the hedge – The Hole, as she called it – had got there. She had been certain that it hadn’t been there when she used to explore the garden, but then she’d come back from fencing one day as the Mistress of the Glader Blade (her sword’s name was this). Then she discovered the hole. She’d told Mum to patch it up, but always reappeared again with no sign of wood and the neighbours said they didn’t have any holes. Fraeli got curious. So, she convinced Mum to have a week of at a hotel, then told Dad, so he went to look after her. Then, when Dad disappeared, she sheathed her sword, (she thought there may be some brambles) and crawled through. Strangely, it seemed to grow to fit her. Finally, she reached the other side. ‘Side’ was a relative word for it. ‘World’ or ‘Planet’ seemed to work better. Dragons were where the birds should be. Bearded wizards were where the old men should be. Mini-Tinkerbells were where the children should be. Gods were where the lords should be. UFO’s were where the planes should be. Yet there was a… almost… tension in the air, like something was going to happen. Soon, it did.

  43. I’m Ruby, just an ordinary person with the worst next door neighbour ever. Her name is Molly, Moody Molly I call her when she’s not around. She tells me what to do and shows off about everything. Plus, she’s always watching me in the garden, and being a nosy parker. She peeks through the hedge that separates our gardens.
One day I had just had enough off Moody Molly peeking through the hedge, that I just wanted revenge. I had a plan, I knew the kinds of things she used to do in her bedroom, like sing silly songs and do funny dances, and pose in the mirror, and I knew how to climb up to her bedroom window. I was the best rock climber, tree climber and I could climb up all sorts of things when I was younger. I could climb up the drain pipes and hook my feet in the gigantic crevices, and Molly’s house had hundreds of crevices in the brick walls of her house, though sometimes I wondered how Molly’s mother coped with all of the cracks in the walls, she was very house proud.
One morning, I woke up whilst the rest of my family was asleep, and checked the time. six thirty, perfect. I knew what time Molly woke up, as she boasted how much earlier she woke up than me. I threw on some old worn out high tops, and crept out of the house, and into the back garden. I had never peeked through the hedge before, and was eager to find out what Moody Molly’s garden looked like. I kneeled down onto the damp grass. I paused.
“Should I really be doing this?” I thought, “Well, I guess she does it to me every minute of the day, and this is my first time to peek through the hedge,” I laughed.
    I looked through.
“I’m sure this is not her garden. It looks more like a wood to me,” I mumbled, suddenly, for the first time, feeling a bit jealous of the magnificent garden…well more like forest as far as I could see. The sky was a beautiful blue, not the colour of the sky in my garden, and the trees were an emerald green.
“Maybe I’ll just…do it another time.” I wondered.

  44. The secret garden

Hi , my name is Sally, there is this funny bush that I think might lead to a secret garden with magic creatures . This morning I decided to go on an adventure to explore what laid behind the emerald coloured bush covered in pink roses.

I wondered over and imagined what might be through the hole in the bush. It took a five minute walk from my house .

I started to crawl through the bush and all of a sudden there was a big blast of heat and I heard the sound of animals running through the leaves and there , right in front of me was the most amazing thing ………….. it was the cutest thing ever………… it was a black and white three eyed monster . He had a blue eye and two yellow eyes , he had two purple horns and three pointy fangs .Then I noticed a whole group of them, which were all different colours.

Then more different monsters started to appear from all over the place. I introduced my self and played with them for a little while and thought how lucky I was to of made such wonder full friends.

But then I looked at my watch and saw the time, it was almost dinner time. I said a rushed good by to the monsters and sprinted home just in time as Mum was serving a roast.

I laid in bed and thought about the day as I drifted of to sleep.

    THE HOLE IN THE HEDGE

Hi, I’m Meg Murphy. I live in the countryside with my family. My best friend Mia Hudson lives next door, we’ve know each other since Mia moved here when we were both two.
Do you promise not to tell anyone this? Good. I am going to let you know how my family and I are cursed with bad luck.
A hundred years ago, a witch cursed the Murphy family because my great-great-grandfather betrayed her, which is very unlucky.
One day I was passing by the forest. It looked like a very strange forest, a very tall hedge growing in front of it! Well, I saw a tall old woman crawl through a hole in the hedge. This was surprising really, because as I got closer, the hole disappeared.
That night, I jumped out my bedroom window and into the trampoline. I heard the sound of footsteps and I pressed myself against the cold net of the trampoline. Then, I saw a flash of hair. I would recognise the colour of that hair anywhere, it was Mia’s.
“Mia!” I called. She came up to me.
    “Hi!” she said.
Suddenly, a hole formed in the bushes that surrounded my garden.
    “Shh!” she murmured.
I quietly followed her through the hole and when I came out, I was by the forest on my own. Then, I saw Mia in front of the same hole where the woman had disappeared that morning.
I joined her and she said “Let’s go”. Before I could stop her, she crawled through anxiously. I peeked in and Mia was standing about a metre away, just in front of a big black cloud on the ground. She was engulfed by the cloud, and then I heard a bloodcurdling scream.
Horrified, I turned around ready to run when something hit me on the back of my head. I felt to the ground unconscious dreaming of what had happened to Mia.

  46. Ryan W says:

A man called Josh went into the scary forest all on his own, all he had with him was food, a knife, water and a bed. The reason why he was in the forest was because he was going on a exploration.

Now he went to the forest. The first thing he saw when he got there was trees with lots of ivy. He now got out his knife and chopped pieces of wood to make a home.

The next thing he did was go adventuring though the forest and came across a fresh river, and he settled there because he could get an infant water source. When he finished making his home he went to sleep. When he woke up he saw animals around his home, he wanted to get some meat to cook and eat.

He got his knife and slayed some animals, and cut out the meat and cooked it on a fryer. He was now ready to go to find the temple, he went out of his home and searched every area, and in the North he found the temple.

After raiding it he went for a nap, because dodging traps are tiring, when he woke up, he went sprinting through the forest to get home. After a while he found the exit he crawled through the gap in the hedge and he saw houses and people playing in the field.

  47. One Friday afternoon, as a cloak of rich red, orange and yellow was being hauled across the sky, and as I was walking back from school, there was a sweet, strong scent of candy floss. YUM YUM YUM!!! The crisp, caramelised scent was getting stronger by the second.

Suddenly I got stuck! Thorns pocked their razor sharp points in me and sprawling twigs got in my face. I wriggled and jiggled and wriggled and jiggled and after a while I got myself free. I wriggled a bit further.
You would never guess what I saw!!!…
    THE CIRCUS!!!!!!!!!!!!
I cannot BEGIN to explain how ecstatic I felt. The strings of my huge heart were pulled.

It was a scorching hot summers day. In the back yard, Steven was playing football with his dad. Determined to win Steven took his shot. Swinging his right foot ferociously into the ball he hit the cross bar with a resounding thud bounced off travelling towards Mrs whisker’s window, rebounding off and landing in her garden.

Casually Steven clambered over the fence into next door’s garden. The gardens’ lawn was untidy and long, the flowers were overgrown, but in the middle of the garden there was a little pond glistening in the sunlight. Unlike the rest of the garden the pond was very well looked after, the rocks were polished to a mirror shine and Steven could see his face in them. There were two impeccable lily pads sat delicately on the water.

Steven spotted his football lying next to a sleepy looking gnome with a fishing rod. Quickly Steven ran to the ball, tossed it over the fence and followed it happily back to his garden. Suddenly, Steven heard a whisper through the fence. Sneakily Steven spied back through the hole in the fence. He saw more gnomes than he saw before. He heard that noise again, it was like some sort of chanting, he took another look through the hole. There were still the same amount of gnomes but they were not in the same place as they were before. Steven moved from the hole but then quietly went back, the gnomes did not see him and he saw what was happening, it was a war of gnomes!

Everywhere he looked there were fat gnomes, skinny gnomes, tall gnomes and small gnomes!

As I emerged through the edge of the hedge, a small beam of light blinded my eyes. The power of the beam shone so bright. I stacked it!
Behind the green, olive hedge , was a steep cliff. I was frantically hanging on. A small little ledge. Hungry and thirsty. I climbed for survival but found myself nowhere.

The hole in the hedge had been there for as long as I can remember. I had got curious one day, and crawled through it and had all sorts of adventures and made all sorts of friends. But no-one would believe me when I told them about it. But, I learnt somewhere that it’s easier to believe a book than a person. So here is my story.

I always had wondered what the hole in the hedge was. It was odd. No fox ever came from it, nor did they look at it. In fact, no one did. Their gaze would just slide over it as if it wasn’t there. I tried asking them once, but they claimed that there was no hole in the hedge and that I should go to sleep. But there was. I’d once kicked a football there, and it had rolled straight though. That was the last time I saw it. It was that night that I plucked up the courage to crawl through. The thorns parted for me, closing behind me, but when I tried to get back, they poked me. So I just went through. Finally, I saw light. I crawled towards it, before poking my head through. I saw a barren wasteland, with rubbish strewn across the floor and no life as far as I could see. I hauled my body through. But as soon as I touched the ground, the place changed. Now it was what I thought of Paradise. Clear flowing fountains, fluffy rolling clouds. I looked back and saw the hedge had disappeared. Then a rabbit hopped past, pursued by a girl wearing an old fashioned coat. The rabbit hopped down a rabbit hole. The girl tried to follow, when I grabbed her. “Now I’ve lost the rabbit,” she said, glaring at me. “Alice, you fall down the rabbit hole, and then nearly get killed.” I replied
“How do you know if I will? And how do you know my name?” She shook free and followed the rabbit. Seconds later there was a scream. I shook my head. I started walking, but forgot about the hole. My leg went through, and I tumbled down, before shooting out of the hole in the hedge.

  53. ASN says:

I crawled through a leafy gap in the hedge and I saw an amazing view. There was a small, peaceful village which was quiet and calm. It had all the right places there with a few local schools. It was an attractive area. There was a park where some boys were playing cricket, the sun was shinning high above them. It was a great day to play, the village was not a crowded area. The grass was bright luscious green and short, it looked like a good place to live. It was heaven, a fantastic place all together. The brilliant blue colour of the sky overlooked the village.I strolled around the village for some time and looked around, the houses there were quite huge.

  54. Fayo I says:

    WHAT I SAW
As I scuttled down the hedge I peeped out and stared, it was prodigious; I looked down and around there were graceful glowing flowers having the suns silhouette shine on them with limitless light.
In between this astonishing view there was a mouth watering smell – I jumped down and decided to look at it. When I got there , there was even more amazement , there was a stream full of pink pleasing ice –cream , beside me I saw ice –cream cones, candy canes, marsh mallows and much more.
In one tremendous tumble I gulped everything. A few minutes later a blue beautiful fairy presented right in front of my bulging eyes.
“You’ve eaten all the sweets” she screamed, “And“, I said not caring he least.
What rude attitude, “Now I will have to banish you”
I felt so angry I thought I see red, my eyes were feeling like exploding .I felt myself hovering above the fairy and the malevolent fairy thrusted me in the grassy hedge and placed a magic door and slammed it.

  55. Fayo I says:

    I’M BEING FOLLOWED
    Dark in the night
    I saw a figure
    Swimming up from the depths
    It was a colossal fish

    Dark in the night
    I noticed a shape
    Jumping above me
    It was a agile dolphin

    Dark in the night
    I gazed at a fin
    Following me with speed
    Aaah it’s a deathly shark

    Light in the morning
    The was still a fin
    Following me so carefully
    And finally it killed me

  56. Ieva says:

It was a beautiful summers day in1983 and Amanda was in the woods exploring again. Amanda was young girl with a big imagination. She lived in the woods in a little cottage witch was surrounded by lots of trees. She had a small garden with low fencing around it but she also owned all of the woods. Every day Amanda would wake up and go out exploring. Then she would go back home for lunch and help her mum. Today though she was making a tree house for herself when she spotted a little gap. She decided to take a look what was behind there and crawled right through. On the other side of the hole was a lovely garden. It had tree houses to live in and giant chocolate bars as benches. The houses were made from chocolate and the trees were made of sticky toffe (so you can climb up them). It was like a candy dream come true to true. Instead of water… There was caramel. Instead of learning about there land, they learned about the woods and were Amanda came from. Instead of normal people there were chocolate statues and ginger-bread men. Then, Amanda asked a gingerbread man what time it was. And he replied, “We do not have any hours. This land was cursed. I was once a human like you…” The gingerbread man paused and had a terrified look in his face.”The most evil wizard in the whole land cursed us and if you stay for 1 whole day, you turn to one of us.” “Oh. THanks for the warning but what is the time?”Asked Amanda. “Well, the time stopps in the normal world when you enter here,”Replied the ginger bread man. So Amanda said goodbye and went back out of the hole. But was that the last time she visits… Or was it?

  57. OC says:

    Over The Hedge

    Over the hedge,
    At the depths of night,
    I crawled in cautiously,
    And couldn’t believe my sight.

    Animals of all kinds,
    Red green and blue,
    Bats all around me,
    In the black, black night.

Creatures come and go to collect their food,
    In an out they shuttle,
    It makes me hungry too.

I find a walnut not far away,
    I try open it,
    Crack crack crack,
    It won’t budge,
I dropped it on the floor,
That ought to do the trick,
    As it came open.

I decide to stay the night,
    Over here,
    I hear birds chirping,
    And owls hooting,
    It’s like a nice lullaby,
    Over the hedge.

  58. I crawled through the gap in the hedge and I saw a land full of flavored, chewy and gummy sweet plants and melting, creamy and mouth-watering chocolate trees with these little, blue, purple colored haired creatures called ompa lompas ,which had little green dresses on with orange shoes, and they worked for Queen sweets the ruler of sweet kingdom who preferred sweets over chocolate as hence why shes called Queen sweets but they then just make the chocolate for other people who like chocolate. While I was walking through sweet kingdom the little ompa lompas where singing a song in their language, which nobody understood except the Queen and them, when I arrived at the chocolate shop I had a chocolate called honey mint swirl chocolate which was absolutely delicious, then I had some gummy sweets made with some sort of secret ingredient which I didn’t really like but I have never really been a sweets person more a chocolate person. When I left I told everybody I knew but nobody believed me.I’d like to go back again when I have time.

  59. James deacon says:

As I slowly emerge through the branches of the thick bushes an amazing sight shone, of the crystal clear sea gleaming over the island. As I slowly step out from the bushes my delicate feet feel the texture of the soft silky sand below. The light breeze over the warm welcoming of the tidal waves sued my heart with peace and joy.

  60. The secret garden

The garden, but what was in it a forest a jungle a kangaroo?
All I knew was how mysterious it was, what will lay behind the wall of bush. It sparkled so much it seemed to smile at the world. One day I thought I would go through the bush and see what was on the other side. The next day I told my Mum that I would go through the hole and that butch our dog is to come with me.
So I backed our lunch and some water and off we went to the bush behind our house. I struggled at first but butch made a path behind him so I followed. When we got to the middle of the bush we stopped and rested for a while.
When we got to the end we saw a forest of animals of all shapes and sizes! My favourite was the foxes they looked like a rabbit and a fox, how amazing! Butch chased the butterflies and dragon flies. We finaly sat down in a small clearing and had our lunch before deciding that it was time to go back home.
When we got home I told my Mum and Dad all about it. I had a great day, I will go there again.

The bright emerald garden, but what was in it, a forest, a jungle or a kangaroo?

All I knew was how mysterious it was, what will lay behind the tall green wall of bushes. It sparkled so much it seemed to smile at the world. One day I thought I would go through the bushes and see what was on the other side. The next day I told Mum that I would go through the hole and that butch our brave dog as fearless as a tiger, he is bravery personified, is to come with me.

So I packed our lunch and some water and off we went to the bush behind our house. We struggled at first but Butch made a path behind him so I followed. When we got to the middle of the bush we stopped and rested for a while.

When we got to the end we saw a forest of animals of all shapes and sizes! My favorite was the foxes they looked like a rabbit and a fox, how amazing! Butch chased the bright beautiful butterflies and the dragon flies whose wings beat so fast like the blades of a helicopter.

We finally sat down in a small clearing and had our lunch. We heard he faint sound of a cuckoo in the distance. Before deciding that it was time to go back home.

  62. Emma C says:

I clambered cautiously in my nightdress through the mysterious hedge I’d found at the end of my Grandma’s garden and I was amazed to see a magical forest spread out before me with psychedelic parrots flying glamorously across the baby blue sky, beautiful Maths book patterned butterflies flew around my head as I slowly drank in the amazing view. As I stood there some dogs played spiritedly like baby lion cubs jostling with each other and the most glorious sight in this beautiful forest was a waterfall splashing like magic dust falling from the sky.

  63. Ksenia says:

As I was slithering through a gap, a carpet of leaves beneath me began to rustle. Except that, I couldn’t hear anything else, it was like nature had abandoned the silent forest. The needles of the bushes prickled me, as though they were sewing. It was so gloomy that I thought darkness had caught me in a net and was dragging me back, like a magnet. I felt my lungs bury themselves further into my body. Birds flew so fast that I could barely believe they weren’t gusts of wind rushing past me. Where were they hurrying?
As I passed the clearing I heard a tremendous roar! Everything shook. I turned round to sprint back, but the gap had closed up…

  64. Lauren Cooper says:

I was taking a stroll in the luscious, green park when I heard the sound of a battle cry coming from the other side of a hedge. I curiously crept up to it and pushed the middle of the hedge carefully – I didn’t want to get poked by the sharp, spiky thorns. Immediately, a gap had formed where I had pushed it and I peered through. I could just about make out two small shapes in the distance until I heard gunshots coming from behind me. Then …… darkness.

  65. Amogh Bandla says:

I vigilantly manoeuvred through the the spindly tackle of the bony witch-like branches , appearing to be reaching out for me and taking me away. At the corner of my eye, if I squinted ,I could see a glimpse of hollow light that beamed on the surface. I was getting closer…the sullen sky’s lights rays were beaming down giving a look, as of death. I crawled across the damp mud , wet from the drumming rainfalls. Suddenly the sky seemed to have closed out. Mother had told me stories of dignified nights going in this forest and never returning; she ended every story like this ‘ Those who enter shan’t return.’

  66. Adm says:

As I crawled through the giant gap in the messy, uncut hedge, I saw… a wintry wonderland; fragile snowflakes delicately stroked the cloaked trees. Reluctantly, I trudged my way through the plain, thick blanket of powdery, icy water. Evergreen fir trees slowly poked a bushy arm out, waving welcomingly. Bare, abandoned nests in rigid branches snooze in tranquillity, like a hibernating hedgehog.

  67. Diyaa Bhabra says:

One bright sunny day in the town of London, a family went hunting in the woods for some lion to have for a roast. The two children, Ria and Reshma went to the animal section, but there had seem to not be any animals there but a big wide hole. Reshma had a closer look and saw a lion, Ria came along and took a deep breath the two sisters went to have a closer look as they walked into the big wide hole, that looked like a big mouth ready to eat the children. Reshma squinted her eyes and whispered “That’s a man in a costume.” Sadly the girls were too late, that man went to capture the girls in a plastic black bag! After a while at six ish the two parents went to look for their children but they were never found. After three years the girls returned to their home and were crying when also hugging their relieved parents. The whole family was never to go on a trip to the woods again!

They look so mouth-watering she mumbled to herself with her eyes glowing. she tried a bit of chocolate and then turned around and found out that Lucky had gone! She looked at the floor worriedly but then saw Lucky’s footprints, she rapidly but carefully followed them. She found Lucky!! She was relieved. Ellie found him stuffing his cute face with candy! 69. Mason Rogers says:

I crawled through the hedge and I saw….. I saw massive trees swishing and swooping through the air with lish green grass tht was so green it looked unrealistic, the bark was so brown that even a brown fox was brighter than it with branches that stick out like metre sticks next to 10 cm rulers! The shape though the shape, the shape was like a giant tunnel but wasn’t, I can only imagine going through this. I’ll probably instantly get lost! I had a little peek and the grass was as tall as a mountain so I did the sensible choice to stay back but I couldn’t because a magical fence appeared… I was stuck.

  71. Liam G says:

Carefully, I crawled through the thorny hedge and a world of pure imagination. Elegantly running through the middle of the world, a chocolate river flowed. I stepped inside a boat made of jelly beans and found myself rowing using a humongous lollipop. What is happening? Is this real? How did I get here? Suddenly a gummy bear said to me, “Hello Mr Bond, we’ve been expecting you. “

He was feeling tired and drowsy.
Suddenly, heard some bushes rustling behind him. He looked back and saw a hole in the bushes.
He was very curious and wanted to investigate, so he got up, and slowly advanced towards this mysterious hole.
He crawled through and discovered that this was no ordinary hole,no, this was a worm hole that transported people that were foolish enough to go through it to another dimension!
There was a flash of blue light, now he was in another dimension.

  73. Vedant says:

One day I was strolling down the local park when I saw a gap in the hedge. I was surprised that I had never noticed it ever before! I was curious. I wanted to find out what was inside. Looking around, I could see that nobody was looking. Then I quickly dived into the bush. ‘Wow’ I thought, staring all around me. There was a beautiful fountain in the middle of a gravel path. The pretty fountain had many fish in it [mostly Goldfish] which were swimming in it happily. The path led to a large, fat bush. It had many crawly insects crawling around in it, making you shiver. Then I wandered on further, ready for more amazement. Suddenly, I remembered that my mum would be looking for me so I should be getting home quickly! I sprinted for the gap in the hedge as fast as I could. I dived through the gap and ended up out in the park shouting “Mum, I’m back!” . Then, I noticed that the whole place was exactly the same as before going through the hedge. My mum came and I told her all about going in the hedge and what I had seen. I knew that she didn’t believe me because when I went to bed, I overheard her talking to a friend on the phone and she said ‘Kids’ whilst explaining to her friend. But the truth was , I don’t know if it happened because no time had passed when I entered and exited the hedge. Was it true or not?

I crawled through the gap in the hedge and i saw a whole new world with jumping jam and smiling sun . There was gazing green gras and adorable aliens hobbling side to side , calling
“bee bop ” in the east there was mini aliens , bakers ,who were as messy as babies and in the south of this new world there was older aliens dancing, it was as weird as unicycles . Cautiously , i stepped foot on the green grass and i examined a village made of beautiful flowers stranded on the other side of the pond. The aliens came to my feet
“whoo” shouted one of many , and i mean many aliens who played with me till noon.

    Magical Hedge

One day, an erratic happening happened. I found a new world…………………..in a hedge. By now you would be thinking “This is weird” and would probably be about to walk away and do something else. For those of you still reading this, I will tell you what happened. I was in the park I saw a gap in the hedge next to me, and through it I saw a path made of marble. I decided to go through it. And so I did. There were beautiful fountains, tall trees and delicate, ornate flowerbeds. Then, it came to life!

  78. Shubhi says:

Down in the deep dense forest, there was melodious tune coming from the other end. There were flocks of bird, swooping all around trying to interfere in someone else’s conversation. The clouds were fluffy, cute marshmallow dancing and twinkling up in the azure sky. As I looked up, the sky was filled with rainbow through which bright sunlight was displaying the series of beautiful pattern of the nature. As I strolled down this fabulous forest, I witnessed tremendously tall, colossal oak tree standing steadily like the others.

As I explored in this adventure trip further, I noticed there was a huge hedge, which went up to the space. In this cramped natural world, there was hardly any space to squish through. Further down the west, there was an open path leading to the secret garden. The secret garden was amazing site, which was absolute treat to my eyes. In one corner of the secret garden, you are just about going to discover the unimaginable workshop. It was chocolate factory! The chocolate factory was full of aroma of caramel, walnuts and fresh cocoa beans.

Suddenly, a cacophony of melodious sounds coming from the window has woken me up. I rubbed my eye and realised it was a sweet dream. I wish my dream had continued a bit longer as my curiosity in the wonderland was growing. I wish I am back in the dreamland for a secret adventure!

Sophie gazed absentmindedly out of the window. Rain pattered heavily onto the ground, it was the worst summer day ever. She was supposed to be playing in her paddling pool but it seemed a very long time until the rain eased. She went outside but was too tired to swim. Suddenly she noticed a gap in the hedge that she had never observed before. Sophie crawled through the gap and stood there with her mouth wide open.
It was an absolutely eye popping land. There were fairies, pixies and elves all playing enthusiastically in the grounds. It must have been a second or two before she went to join the fun. Luckily, Sophie caught sight of a kind looking fairy. She asked the fairy if she could give Sophie a tour. The fairy agreed and said that her name was Elena. Elena showed Sophie gardens, fountains, houses and took Sophie on many rides. Soon the girls were the best of friends. Sophie and Elena played and chuckled until they were out of breath. Sophie took some swirly floss and was sad to leave. However she always went again. It was the most amazing adventure she’d ever experienced.

  81. Aaron juhti says:

The mystery that had to be solved was in front of me. I epsyed a gap in my hedge which was as pointy as thorns. When I crawled on all fours through the gap. I gazed at the most phenomenal sight. The setting was an Oakland forest, and the beaming sun lit every corner. Crunch! Went a sound. It was me, I had trod on a twig. Suddenly, my eye caught sight of setpents scattered everywhere. I ran for my life, hoping never to bump into them again. Strangely I saw something hovering amongst the trees and hedges. A closer look revealed a snake. It was pushing its way through the hedges and shrubs. Without warning of its next move the snakes emerald coloured body illuminated my face and gobbled me up.

  82. Shernet Chapline says:

I crawled through the gap in the hedge and I saw…
Two paths one old and battered a mystery what lurks there and another beautiful red roses planted with complete care. I obviously took the destroyed path that revealed a hole that went on for two seconds I landed with an ear splattering THUD! I blacked out…

  83. Gracie Parker says:

I curiously looked around the sensational garden, gradually memorising every feature. Unique flowers were as colourful as a rainbow. The temptation was unbelievable to dive in as water went Drip! Drop! from the ice cold fountain. Clouds tiptoed across the sky, the wind whistled down my ears. I could hear beautiful birds singing sweetly to every other creature in the land, different birds played a wide range of instruments. Butterflies soared and dived in the sky, showing off there pretty patterns to eachother.

  84. Diya Jena says:

    Hole in the Hedge
I knew I wasn’t meant to be there, but I couldn’t resist climbing over the fence and into the garden that was out-of-bounds. Usually, the other times I had been in there, there wasn’t a huge gap in the hedge at the far end of the garden. As I was surprised to see it there, I ran over to it and climbed through the hole with difficulty.

This other side of the garden was filled and packed with flowers that bloomed everywhere. All kinds of flowers bordered the garden: flowers that were as blue as the sky, milk-white ones, flowers that exploded with colour that were fireworks. It was a beautiful place, with a fountain spraying water in the middle of the place. Willow trees and Horse chestnuts waved down at me, their leaves spiralling down in twirling movements.

Tweets and chirps were heard from every inch of the garden. I thought I was Mary, who had just discovered the Secret Garden. The sky was darkening, and the birds were ready to stop chirping. White dots soon appeared in the clear, dark blue sky. I was so lucky to have found this garden. With one last look at the garden, I turned around and climbed back through the gap.

  85. Riya Jena says:

So there she was, Grace, standing in front of the hedge which had a gap big enough for a person to go through. ‘It’s now or never,’ whispered Grace to herself. She ran through the little gap and emerged on the other side. She closed her eyes and breathed fast, listening for the footsteps of the murderous kidnapper. The footsteps died away and finally Grace opened her eyes. The most beautiful sight met her eyes; a huge oak tree in the middle of the garden-like place with a lovely little swing. Flowers grew nearly everywhere and little white flowers dotted the lush green grass that carpeted the ground. The tree waved its huge arms in the slight summer breeze as if it was saying hello to Grace. Slowly, Grace walked to the wooden swing that hung on one of the oak tree’s stretching arms. She sat on it and pushed off. Moving gently through the air, Grace heard a croaky voice: ‘Hello young girl!’ Grace’s heart stopped beating. Surely it can’t have been the dangerous kidnapper…

  86. Harley Taylor says:

It all started with a dare.
Buddy and I were sitting under a vast oak tree to keep out of the scorching sun, the tree’s arms overhung, the crowds of leaves blocking the sun, whilst throwing acorns to keep the boredom at bay. It was just me and Buddy, no one else, they were all enjoying the luxurious beaches in a counties far away.
”Hey Harley, you know old man Jeffery ?”
”Yeh isn’t that the man who lives over there, the one who is as old as time”,
”Yes where little Johnny Smith went missing and was never found again .” ”That devil with his crooked teeth going in all directions as he gives you his wicked grin.” All of a sudden Buddy dared me to go in to his back garden, see if i can find little Johnny Smith, i knew that those rumours weren’t true, that little Johnny probably just moved away, but it didn’t stop me from not wanting to go and find out what lied in the depths of that scary man’s garden. However I couldn’t let Buddy think I was scared. I stood. Slowly I walked, dragging my feet, the hedge stared at me daring to enter . I crawled through the gap in the hedge and i saw…
