13+ Tuition

Whether your child is sitting the Common Entrance exam for a private school place or is hoping to enter a Grammar school once a place becomes available post Year 7, S6 can ensure that they are fully prepared.

Assessment

Our 13+ tuition process begins with a comprehensive age related assessment to establish your child’s knowledge gaps in key areas and takes place in the comfort of your own home. Testing includes maths, English, verbal and non-verbal reasoning and creative writing.

Tuition Plan

The assessment process will enable your tutor to develop a bespoke learning plan and resource pack for your child incorporating:

• Maths
• English
• Science
• Language
• Verbal Reasoning (antonyms, synonyms and homophones*)
• Non Verbal Reasoning (spatial awareness and 3 dimensional shapes*)
• Interview technique if required

* These elements are not included within the national curriculum but may be required for entrance examinations.

Experience has shown us that there is significant value in over preparing children for grammar and private school entrance. This approach enables them to manage the examination process confidently and more importantly, ensures that they are able to cope with the demands of their new school once they have achieved their place.
