The hot air balloon
I’m flying up, with nothing below me except a basket floor. The weightlessness is kicking in, I feel like I’ve taken a trip to outer space. The balloon is floating up still while I’m looking over the spectacular horizon. All the people below are no bigger than baby ants, well that’s from where I’m standing. I feel like I’m in a bubble that will never burst. The fire from the gas is scorching. Suddenly I hear a blow. There is no immediate impact; I think it was just a firework or something like that. But I was wrong. There’s a mechanical noise, the balloon sounds sick. I begin my speedy descent down to earth. I’m no longer a bird flying in the sky. Then it suddenly hits me I will crash land in my very own village of Silver End. If it’s a consolation I can see my house and I’ve already past it. I’m focusing on my house when an almighty ‘bang’ hits. I see a chimney fly down to earth. Then it hits me I will cause major destruction to myself and the village if I don’t free jump. I say to myself, three, two, one and jump. The place I land will be my grave…
THE HOT AIR BALLOON!
You just won’t believe what has just happened! Only just become the first child to host a hot air balloon in the world. It’s so hard to keep the elation inside of me. This is how it all started…
Yesterday we went to the hectic fair. We cautiously went on rides that were not too high or not too low. After going on dozens of rides, I went by myself to the blissful entertainment arena while the others went to have a delicious lunch at ‘Feels Good’ restaurant. Meanwhile the performances were absolutely stunning. I couldn’t have asked for any thing better! Soon they came to take me, but the performances were so fascinating that they all had to sit down for a bit. Then, mother asked me what I wanted for a last ride.
“The hot air balloon please!” I retorted quickly.
Eventually, there was time at the end for the ultimate ride – the fantastic hot air balloon. It was a bright crimson colour. I paid £2.50 for one ticket and asked if I could ride alone. They answered and said it was double the amount of one ticket. Now, the host double-checked if I was okay with this. Once I said okay I paid him the money, climbed in and took off. It was scorching.
Suddenly, a storm sprang up and lightening blasted bolts at me. I steered away trying to dodge the ferocious thunder and flashing lightening. After weaving in and out of the thunder for five whole minutes, the storm vanished as swiftly as it came. So I floated down gently, carried by the warm, caressing breeze.
The first thing everybody noticed when I touched down was that the colours had changed to: yellow, black, green, blue, brown and red. Then everybody clapped to
my amazing talent. Unexpectedly, the press interviewed me and questioned if I had done anything like this before. That’s all the information that I have now. Tomorrow I’ve got a newspaper conference. Report everything to you tomorrow.
Good night diary.
See you tomorrow.
The Hot-air balloon
High in the azure blue sky,
Over the misty clouds,
Towards a new adventure.
Above the screaming crowd,
In the free feeling air,
Rumaging for a camera to take a picture.
Back down from the chilly heights,
All excited from what they have seen.
Like a tortoise the decrease in height,
Loving the slow drop.
On the graceful hot air balloon,
Over the startled crowd,
Neatly landing at the finishing line.
The red, yellow and green giant balloon races across the sky with the powerful wind blowing forcefully against it. As the wind whooshes by, the balloon rises higher in the glorious sky. The hot flame burns red, yellow and green as it pushes the balloon through the fluffy clouds. The flame gets as hot as the sun, as it burns brightly in the sky.
“Quick come outside!” cried my dad. My feet carried along a river of beige tiles producing the floor of the rectangular kitchen. I found myself go through elegant white glass panelled French doors. Finally I put my foot on a patio on the other side of the French doors and briskly walked over to my dad, his eyes were fixed on the evening glowing lilac sky.
In the sky was the most immense hot air balloon I had ever seen in my 10 years of life. The basket like the brown of the bark of an oak. The balloon itself was dark blue, but there was a problem that I couldn’t quite get round my head. It looked like it was coming down into our garden!
Every second my eyes seemed to shrink, as it came closer it grew in size. Our garden had 2.6 acres in it so it was no problem for it to land here?
After the hot air balloon came within 26.2 meters I could see something wrong and very, very strange. The hot air balloon was bigger than the garden!
At least an hour passed and the monumentally massive balloon’s basket corner was millimetres away from the ground. POW!
Magically, every time part of the balloon hit the ground, it turned into a million different coloured balloons, until there was a cloud of them. Gently they floated away and I could just make out in the distance the first balloon that had appeared.
One thing that I still couldn’t figure out was that I had not seen any people flying the balloon and yet the flame was still burning.
Travelling across the world
As I climbed out of the hot air balloon, people were there, cameras where flashing. It was truly an extraordinary sight. Anyway,it is a miracle that this far from my old, dull, boring life. It is such a sight to see many people who maybe… want to be like me, travelling across the world in a hot air balloon just to show how much electricity you can save. From getting from a dull life to a colourful life, this how it began…
I sighed. Another breakdown of my oven and my microwave. What will I have to cook with now ?Besides, I try to do good to the environment, and what does Karma give me?Shame. My parents used to waste a lot of electricity such as: computers, televisions, mobile phones and light bulbs. In fact, when I was a little boy, I vowed that I would waste very little electricity as possible to help the world be a more eco- friendly place. However, I have not made any progress in my vow.
Since I moved here, I wanted to go back to my home country (Oceania) so I can go to university there instead of England.I thought: ‘Although I will go by plane,I have to do this even though,it is not eco-friendly’, I thought of a better idea. A hot air balloon. It spent so much less electricity and will show people that being eco-friendly is really easy.
I got a few of my friends that were good tailor’s to sew the fabric onto the hot air balloon, and I would weave the basket. After two months, the hot air balloon was ready! I got into it with my sharp suit on in the central park and whoosh! It started to lever up! I went travelling to Afghanistan, Niger, Nigeria, Chile, Australia, North America, South America, France, Canada, Jamaica, Tokyo, Japan, Beijing, Russia and a lot more other places, spreading the word about being eco-friendly once I got back in England, at the same spot that I had left from, at sunset, everyone started clapping for me. It was amazing to see how I can change the lives of people and environment too.
Up, up and away!
Fires roaring like a dragons breath, taking us higher and higher into the air.
As I look below, I see beautiful fields full of golden wheat, bouncing lambs and horses eating grass.
Oh, look over there, I can see chaotic cars crashing, and I am floating above, swiftly moving through the air.
The trees are dancing in the the wind, and in the distance I can see a castle. We are heading toward that castle to land this wonderful experience in a hot air balloon. The dragons breath is beginning to fade and we are lowering towards land.
What a wonderful experience.
Day in a hot air balloon
The sun was a sparkling Frisbee gliding through the air. The open blue was a whole new world. The wisps of clouds were fresh wool of a new born lamb. The road beneath us was a ribbon of sunlight. The miniature figures were little more than pin points of a needle. The camera flashes were twinkles of a dew drop. The fields were patches of a quilt that covered the world. The grass was a water colour painting of one hundred greens. The houses were neat little match boxes. The balloon was a rainbow that we were looking for the end of. The basket was our cart taking us to a whole new area. The leaves were green ice creams in intricate cones. Everything was better from the view of a hot air balloon.
Night in a hot air balloon
The moon was a ghostly battle ship wading through the sky. The darkness was an empty galaxy. The wisps of clouds were waves of a stormy sea. The highway beneath us was a corridor of moonlight. The creatures of the night were little more than shifting shadows. The lights of houses were detective’s torches as they solve a mysterious murder. The fields were abandoned land forbidden to everyone. The thieves were unnoticed silhouettes darting from house to house. The cars were packs of wolves racing for their prey. The trees were killers searching for a target. From the hot air balloon I saw the truth.
The mythical world
It was 9 o’clock and weariness was overcoming me. I’d had an action-packed day, consequently I couldn’t wait to laze in bed and let my dreams whisk me off to a new world. I’d dreamt about goblins, imps and dragons, they all existed in my dreams. I settled down and the hot air balloon, decorated with cheerful and vivid colours, appeared in my mind.
I leaned over the side and gazed longingly at all the brilliant worlds. All worlds were unique, however if you have a picnic, everyone is your friend (even the orks!) Therefore, I checked I had all of my food. Sure enough, my plethora of food was stacked high in the corner. As the hot air balloon ventured close to Apollo (the planet I always visit) I saw all my friends. I waved, but the balloon carried on moving. This meant only one thing, I was heading to Hades (the scariest place ever.) I heard a beeping and then I awoke.
And, for the first time ever, I was satisfied that my alarm had concluded my dream.
THE hot air balloon is slowly rising, heating up from its deep sleep it doesn’t want to get out of bed, but it is forced to by the spitting engine which suddenly bursts into full life. Finally, the balloon is up and running, ready to take people for rides all over the country. Almost immediately after she has fully prepared herself, her basket is full of people. This vibrant work of art rises and amazes up, up into the unpredictable sky. The driver cleverly pulling at the strings and tweaking with the engine makes the ride a fine one.
Suddenly, there is a faint blasting sound, which is getting nearer and nearer and louder and louder… WHOOSH!! An elephantine airliner has torn the balloon the passengers are screaming, the basket is tumbling down, down, toward the sea… SPLASH!! … Instead of hitting the sea, the basket hits a swimming pool on a cruise liner (luckily it is closed because of the water, so nobody is hurt). Another lucky thing is that the driver has a length of rope, so they can throw it to the staff on the nearest side of the pool (as the pool is huge and not clean). Soon enough, they are in and safe.
Hurrah! Hurrah! Hurrah! They have been saved and are currently on their way back home.

A long time ago, in the country of Jamaica lived a poor, young girl called Emerald Star. Emerald lived with her older sister Sapphire in a tiny, little beach hut. Sapphire (who was eighteen) had a job as a cleaner but wasn’t earning enough money to live a normal life. Some days, the sisters had a little bit of food, other days, the sisters had no food.
One day, Emerald dashed home to her sister with great news. “Emerald, as I was walking home a man was handing out flyers . The flyers said that a hot air balloon was going to be on the beach on Saturday and people were allowed on it for only 1000 Jamaican dollars per person!”
“Sorry Emerald but we can’t be spending 2000 dollars on a hot air balloon ride. It is way too expensive. We are limited to 1000 dollars a month,” Said Sapphire, feeling sorry for her sister. Emerald was so upset that she ran to her bedroom crying. All she wanted to do was enjoy herself for once.
The next day was Saturday. Emerald wanted to go on the hot air balloon so badly that she did something very naughty. She told her sister that she was going to the park but instead she ran to the beach. When no one was looking, Emerald climbed into the basket of the balloon and cut the rope that tied the balloon to the ground. It was so windy, the balloon actually started flying.
It went higher and higher. Every one turned round and saw Emerald in the hot air balloon 20m high, and they were so worried that Emerald would hurt herself. When Emerald was about 40m high, she realised that she didn’t know how to fly a hot air balloon!
Before she could say “Jack Robinson” there was a heavy clap of thunder, and a bolt
of lightening. Alas, there was a gaping hole on the balloon. The lightening must have hit the balloon.
Two minutes later, the balloon hit the ground with a loud thud! Everyone worriedly went to see if Emerald was alright. She was lying on the floor with blood every were and was hardly breathing.
A little boy went to tell Sapphire the heart breaking news and she ran out of her house sobbing. Emerald didn’t look like she was going to make it. Every one helped to carry Emerald to the hospital so they could maybe save Emerald. Sapphire was screaming and crying. Emerald was the most precious thing in her life. Will Emerald make it or not?…..,
“Oh please stop with the cameras!” I shouted, “Stop, your to much!”
As I landed there was deafening roar.
“We love you.”
But one screech caught my ears.
“He’s just a human being.” a lady shouted.
Strangely, that is how I met my wife because after that we went to dinner.
Then we had you wonderful lot.
That’s what my dad said. It’s dreadful you didn’t get to meet them.
Up above skyscrapers through the misty clouds, in this floating hot air balloon all I see is a mini Lego set. Birds flying and chirping cars zooming down the road, in this hot air balloon I’m feeling as though I’m a giant. Going higher and higher nothing below me other than a basket floor, in this hot air balloon I hear wind flowing through my ears. I’m getting lower and lower until I reach the ground like I have shrunk and out I come.
My hot air balloon ride nearly killed me . We ,my dad and I, were flying in the air when a swarm of bees went straight through our balloon and it popped we were doing loop the loops, swirls, whirls and twirls. After this the balloon crash landed into a graveyard and the basket and the balloon caught fire. Anyway the good thing is we are safe in a nearby village.
See ya soon

A ride in a hot air balloon.
I am flying up, flying up so high that I will be no where to be seen… I feel like a rocket heading out into space. I can feel the featherweight kicking in! As I look down to Earth, I can see everything as small as baby ants. The balloon is still ascending while I am peering over the spectacular horizon. I feel like I am going to go upwards forever and ever… I was carried swiftly through the dark night sky by the howling, caressing wind. I got down in the end…
The Hot Air Balloon Race
One tropical ,scorching day , my devoted parents and I were strolling down the pebbled, knobbly path. The entrance off the park was like entering a rainforest. The lofty trees look down on us and the diminutive flowers swayed in the wind and bowed down to us. Just then something caught my emerald beady eyes .
“Look daddy, ” I said “A hot balloon race …. can we go , please as my birthday is in 5 months.”
My eyes widened in a beseeching way sparkling in the fiery , orange sunset . I grabbed daddy’s gigantic rough hand together we hurtled through the daisies and buttercups. We thankfully got the ticket in time. A humongous balloon was inflated with air and we were told to step in inside a reasonable big basket.
“Jenny are you coming ? ” said dad irritating mum
“No thank-you would firmly like to stay on the ground much safer ,” was the reply .
Up and away
Up, up and away, I was high up in the air. I went so high I was nowhere to be seen. I prayed to God, i was pretty fearful.
“Nothing bad will happen to me.” I spoke shakily to myself.
I felt like a rocket blasting up into space. As I looked down from the hot air balloon I felt very dizzy, so I drank water. The sky was as blue as the sea. I was so scared goose bumps appeared on my arm. Later on I realized that the hot air balloon wasn’t bad at all. I thought that the hot air balloon ride was going to be amazingly awful, but it wasn’t. My experience on the hot air balloon was epic.
Today I went up in a hot air balloon it was amazing. The sky was blue and all the clouds were out like a cotton ball. I got in and the wooden basket was the only thing under me. I started to go up in the balloon. I felt like I was flying. The view was incredible you could see all of the countryside. Everybody was taking pictures I loved it.

A few precious minutes into the flight and suddenly there is a faint blasting sound, which is getting nearer and nearer, louder and louder… WHOOSH!! A colossal airliner has torn the elephantine balloon, the passengers are screaming, the pilot is frantically trying everything he can to get the balloon under control, but his efforts are useless. The basket is plummeting, plunging towards the hungry sea…
SPLASH!! … Instead of hitting the sea, the basket hits a swimming pool on a cruise liner luckily, it is closed because the quality of the water is not at all safe. Another lucky thing is that the driver has a length of rope, so they can throw it to the staff on the nearest side of the pool (as the pool is huge and not clean). Soon enough, they are in and safe. I’m floating up above, touching the sky filling the sky with some colour. Someone is riding me can it be why cant I be with my family I have never seen my family not even when I was brought to the world. The first thing I saw when I was born was some big pale figures looking at me nodding their heads. Ever sins then people have been opening and closing my big belly and standing on my feet. The scariest part of my life is when the people who are in me are given a big long stick of fire and put it under my head to fly. My life is really scary and I hope none of you hot air balloons never have the same problem in your life.
That’s all from me now bye.
The Hot Air Balloon
The extravagant, attractive hot air balloon (Which was fabulous)reflected its beautiful grace on the crystal-clear water below like a supermodel.Flying high into the candy-floss, the engine ,of the creation, worked its ways to keep the rainbow jogging on the whipped cream. The cylinder shaped hot air balloon had a vivid pear attached to the basket.Exhilarating ,was a word to relate highly to this ‘bubble of peace.’The constantly descending downwards balloon, started to dive down underneath the clouds and “CRASH!”
It felt so good to be up in the air again, just as I had been a few years ago. I felt like a weightless bird, drifting through space with no end. The fire inside me lifted me up into the dark night sky, illuminated only by the brightness of the smiling moon. Everyone was my friend here: the trees, waving their branchy arms at me, the chimneys, billowing out smoke for me to see if they’re okay, the houses themselves, winking at me as the curtains are pulled.
SWISH. The wind picks me up in its arms and drags me towards the river. It was getting too close; the sound of water rushing was filling my ears and I could hear my human shouting for help in their strange language. The river was now an elephantine serpent, impatiently waiting for its prey to fall into its mouth. Quicker and fiercer, I could feel the wind pushing me into the river. I could not help my human or myself, so I peacefully let my body flow into the river, my eyes seeing nothing but darkness now.
I opened my eyes not knowing what I was going to see. I thought it would be horrible; but I didn’t know what horrible was. You see, I’m an air balloon, and I was only made the day before. Instead, I saw a beautiful world full of autumn leaves and flowers that dotted it.
I felt myself going up, up, up. I wanted to go down, but I didn’t know how to. My basket seemed heavy and I didn’t know what was making it so. The clouds greeted me in their strange wind language that whistled like a kettle. The wind helped me get ever more up and it pushed me on and on. A cliff was nearby, and its smiling face looked up at me, hoping that I wouldn’t crash into it. Closer and closer I came, trying to manoeuvre myself to go the other way, but it was no use. I couldn’t do anything.
CRASH! The thing in my basket shouted and screamed in its own language that I didn’t know. Thankfully, I didn’t get badly hurt when I collided with the cliff, otherwise, I wouldn’t be telling this story now! Since then, I’ve always been friends with the cliff, called Collin.
